The Israeli military began expanding its ground offensive across the Gaza Strip as part of a new operation it dubs "Gideon's Chariots" on Friday. Military forces predominantly consisting of non-reservist, regular units, are operating throughout Gaza's north, center and south.

Massive air strikes, which killed hundreds of Palestinians in recent days, preceded the ground offensive. At least 146 people were killed in the past 24 hours, with 58 killed overnight into Saturday, the Hamas-controlled Health Ministry reported. According to reports from the Gaza Strip, many of those killed are civilians and children.

The expansion of the ground operation appears to be timed to coincide with the end of U.S. President Donald Trump's visit to the Middle East, in which he visited Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates, but not Israel. It remains unclear whether the United States and Israel coordinated the timing and whether the U.S. administration gave the green light for an operation

I don’t know where you’re located @Grumpyleb@lemmus.org, but I advise that everyone on earth is more connected to the resistance and danger of fascism even if they think they’re away from it. Learn some songs, make some soup.

I'm originally Lebanese, grewup in the UK due to civil war / Israeli invasion in the late 70's early 80's. I've always been fascinated with politics and history, I cannot (or rather I can, but it shocks me) understand how seemingly quickly America has regressed into fascism. The silent majority is going to destroy what little freedoms remain. As you said, this will reverberate around the world and we have seen a shift to the right across Europe in the past several years. The one saving grace with this Trump administration is their actions have reversed the political climate in Canada and Australia and hopefully it will spread.

The billionaire class are the biggest threat to the entire world and I feel Americans are not doing nearly enough to stop Trump, Musk, Theil et al. The left should be shutting down the country!

I do my best in raising awareness wherever I am, good luck to you all!

Canadian here. We are not out of the woods yet. Our baby fascist hasn't gone anywhere and it was a very close and polarizing election. Our relatives in the west hate us because we are from the east. We have a lot to do to stave off fascism completely this is just a minor reprieve.

A reprieve is at least a chance to try bring about change. Funny how the orange toddler put a spanner in the works for your maga wannabe. I hope you guys keep up the pressure and make sure none of those fascists get a foot hold and destroy Canada.
