Cyberpunk
What is Cyberpunk?
Cyberpunk is a science-fiction sub-genre dealing with the integration of society and technology in dystopian settings. Often referred to as “low-life and high tech,” Cyberpunk stories deal with outsiders (punks) who fight against the oppressors in society (usually mega corporations that control everything) via technological means (cyber). If the punks aren’t actively fighting against a megacorp, they’re still dealing with living in a world completely dependent on high technology.
Cyberpunk characteristics include:
- Dystopian city setting where mega-corporations rule
- Full integration of technology into society, featuring cybernetic implants
- Outsider protagonists (punks) who often are very familiar with the technology around them
- Hard boiled detective and film noir vibes and influence
- Themes dabbling in trans-humanism, existentialism, and what it means to be human.

The Matrix has turned into another meh franchise that's just an excuse to sell lots of the funky impossible karate that was impressive and refreshing the first time, but now totally repetitive, annoyingly constantly fast-paced, and stupid sub-plots with zero surprises.
It's devolved into another totally boring and unimaginative franchise that's being milked for all it's worth, like the million Marvel, Fast and Furious or John Wick movies out there.
John Wick is awesome and unlike those other two had the decency to have AN ENDING
To each his own. I find it unwatchable. It's unrelenting high-speed sameness from beginning to end. Very tiring to watch and very boring at the same time.
I wanted to down vote you but I think we all have that popular movie we can't stand. So I will upvote in respect for your bravery and say the popular movie everyone but me loves is Pulp Fiction
So much of that film is just endless non-seqiturs that by the time a plot starts to show up its over.
I still have no idea what Bruce Willis had to do with anything or why Marcellus is this amazingly unforgettable movie villain every one praises as he's not only very easy to forget but he's not even the villain of the movie he's from.
I feel like Pulp Fiction is simply the Emperor that everyone is afraid to say is naked.
