Human variation is natural and healthy for society thru 99.9999999999% of human evolution.
If a bear just showed up and ate a dude, everyone would die if they just stayed hidden forever because they're scared of the bear.
So it's completely normal to have some percent of the population have a total refuse to take potential consequences seriously, they were the expendables who went out first and loudly shout "if a bear was still here, why isn't it eating me?".
The issue with modern society is we no longer let the idiots risk their lives and die. So society as a whole doesn't get those reminders that negative consequences are real. And those idiots get to live to old age, and not only refuse to take consequences seriously, but they insist everyone else does the same thing.
It's just one of the many ways humans didn't evolve for modern society and why modern history just keeps going thru the same loop.
You might not think of the 1500s as a technologically advance nanny state, but it is compared to before clothes when taking a shit at most involved pausing for a few minutes before continuing about your day.
I'm going to invite you to another angle, and it's one with a premise that people are still scratching their heads over -- forewarning: no matter how honest or objective you try to be about these subjects, this is one of those things where you can't have a public discussion about it and come out unscathed. Even if people don't really have a formed opinion of their own. All well.
Natural selection is still taking place. It was never about "idiots" dying off. That's a bit of a misconception. So let's drop that rhetoric -- even if you wish to keep that opinion. Remember that people can still have plenty of children before doing something terribly stupid and then dying as a result.
In fact, natural selection is in overdrive and stronger than ever. Once you try to grapple with that you'll need a few more pieces to see a more clear picture of why I believe this. Now, for you down voters: I'm not advocating an idea here --even natural selection-- or stating facts so much as trying to understand and communicate the way I see things. If you can't understand the nuance in that, then feel free to continue -- the button is below.
I'll begin by addressing the drivers of modern natural selection in the order of what I believe to be the most impactful. Beware that none of this is to discredit or find fault in either men or women -- but the concept of natural selection, and all of its woes, are directly tied to having successfully reproduced.
Women now have more access to information and communication tools than ever, and that's a good thing -- as are women. I shouldn't have to state that I believe these to be good things, but here we are. Women are, now more than ever, demanding more value from life at all angles. Including, if not especially, men.
Social Media. All these things are tied to my first point. Women, especially younger women, have a better idea of the sorts of things they desire to the point where it will even cause them to feel a decline in their well-being for not having access to it. This may help inform them in a way that they develop other life goals or objectives, rather than participating in a less than desirable relationship.
Family Traditions: Less women are being forced into marriages, whether the marriage is arranged or simply obeying their families desire to marry as the families see fit. Self agency -- good.
Everything else. There are many more drivers -- including things not related to women, I just covered what I believe to be the top three -- I feel I need to state here again, none of this is to blame or find fault in anyone -- man or woman, or anyone else. It's simply an attempt to try to make sense of the world around me.
Why I believe the above can be evidenced by a couple of simple metrics: a steep decline in birth rates across most of the world, and the ~~male~~ loneliness epidemic. This may not fit comfortably into the idea that death is the main driver of natural selection, but as I've already stated, I never believed that it was. Whether natural selection is the correct model to fit this world view into or not and the unpopularity of that model; that would be a different discussion altogether and I'd rather just fit this into the framework of the discussion than have a disclaimer before every sentence for internet points, as I feel I've already had to add too many.
Nonsense, Big Tech propaganda. Of course evolution is ongoing. Every point outside of that is wrong. The REAL reason everything is so expensive. Why we can’t afford housing, or food. Why birth rates are declining. The thing that is driving inflation is all because of wealth inequality. If I purchase from Amazon.co.uk in the UK from a UK retailer. The United Kingdom sees no tax. Because, for the purposes of that transaction Amazon is in Sweden. Any transaction to Meta and again the residents countries see NO tax, because for that purpose, Meta are in Ireland. These companies collect money across every denomination, from every country on Earth and they pay NO TAX. This forces the central banks of every nation to print more money which drives up inflation. Creating Further poverty, homelessness and enslaving us to their propaganda.
Did you notice after COVID how every bank machine became a smart device that runs android? One with cameras on both sides. What about how clock in machines became android tablets that take your picture when you clock in and out? Why do they need to take your picture? Smart watches record your biometric data and send it to Apple, or Google. I mean, look at the cognitive dissonance. You can’t talk on your handset in the car but every new vehicle comes with a giant screen in the centre console that runs either IOS/Android. Every new security camera is a wifi camera which runs Android. Why does a CCTV camera need to have an internet connection? Every checkout machine runs android, records your grocery list and records you, while it takes your picture and your card information. The phones are always listening always recording. Google have just bought the data from Europe, by paying the fines. That’s why they went after Germany and had Merz elected. They want to dismantle any and all privacy protections left after the passing of the AI Act in Brussels. But why? Curtis Yarvin, mentor to JD Vance and Close personal friend of Peter Thiel wrote about his desire to “Virtualise non-productive people as a humane alternative to genocide” under the pen name Mencius Moldbug in 2008. That is what they want for the rest of us, to die dehydrated and starving while we live out the rest of our lives virtually, through generative AI and it has been All over popular media for decades. AI exists to spy on everything you do and to silence dissent. So they can easily search the gargantuan database they have collected on all of humanity by saying “Hey Gemini/Grok/DuckAI/Leo/Copilot etc. Is anyone out there expressing dissatisfaction with the regime?”
None of it returns to circulation. In addition unlike a company like Honda, who produce tangible goods as capital and pay many workers. Big tech comparatively employ very few. So even less of that money is reintroduced to circulation. In the case where they do employ a sizeable number of employees, the ones they have horrendous working conditions, as is the case with Amazons factory workers. The same Amazon whose CEO owns The Wall Street Journal, which has been warming America up to the re-legalisation of child labour. Because the only jobs that will be brought back to America will be the sweatshop jobs, families will need to have their children employed in, in order to survive. This is why Elon Musk said a “Single World Government” would destroy society at the world economic forum. Because if we banded together as nations and said no more we could demand that these companies pay taxes back into the economies they steal from. We need to Tax Wealth, not work. If we were wise, we’d all install linux. divest ourselves from all of their properties, reject AI and buy flip phones. Make no mistake, this is global terrorism, of the highest order. It is the plot to take over the entire world. Natural selection? Have you seen how Rupert Murdoch, Elon Musk and Marcus Andressen look? Hardly poster children for "survival of the fittest." Billionaires have a mental illness, they never have to work for anything, so they inherently have no personal value in anything. It is the deification of money. The loneliness epidemic exists because of how addictive they made their platforms. That's it, youtube, facebook, instagram, google search, x all of them. Just pieces in the same feudalistic, data harvesting radicalisation machine. Nothing else.
First America, then the rest of us. We have the choice to stop, we do not have to obey.
