i think China is doing a good job. god, i never thought i'd say that, but here we are. they've stopped accepting orders from Boeing, and they said they're not willing to negotiate until the US admin is willing to treat them with respect. L M F A O

I wish China would just allow Taiwan and Hong Kong to have their independence , free the ughuirs and then just focus on being an economic powerhouse and they could be a very solid world power to replace the void the US is leaving behind.

Generally China is not expansionist and imperialist, except for these scenarios so they would be a good friend. I'm not totally opposed to their government style as long as it's executed fairly, but needs to be a bit more civilian empowerment.

Given where China was and where they are now, they are doing fantastic and better than they could have ever imagined.

5000 years. that was the argument that got to me. they've been around for five thousand years. i don't think they're facing any existential crises over the big baby in the doll house.

That's not really true, though. That region has undergone numerous cycles of fragmentation and reunification over that period of time, with different cultures and different dynasties taking over from each other.

i'm not backtracking, i promise

but when you're dealing with cunts like trump, do facts really matter more than big numbers?

i don't know what you're talking about. is there any doubt that china's been around for thousands of years? is there any doubt that china's a lot more well-prepared to weather what wharton's dumbest fucking student can't figure out?

e.g., the 5000 years claim is puffery, not supported by evidence. Not hard to learn the truth with 30 seconds of searching.

wow, thank you for teaching me something new today. now you've got me thinking why i made that assumption with so much confidence. the first think i think of is the terracotta army - they're about 2200 years old. i hear the "5000 years old" number thrown around a lot when talking about the great pyramid. i've seen some stuff that i thought was really cool about possible ancient pyramids in china. but i also wonder how much propaganda snuck in there along the way, too.

my last sentence still stands, though :P
