Chat is a text only community for casual conversation, please keep shitposting to the absolute minimum. This is intended to be a separate space from c/chapotraphouse or the daily megathread. Chat does this by being a long-form community where topics will remain from day to day unlike the megathread, and it is distinct from c/chapotraphouse in that we ask you to engage in this community in a genuine way. Please keep shitposting, bits, and irony to a minimum.
As with all communities posts need to abide by the code of conduct, additionally moderators will remove any posts or comments deemed to be inappropriate.
Thank you and happy chatting!

Yeah, but I also don't see how it could be anything other than the hive of scum and villainy that it is. People are going to go on there and publicly suck their company/immediate supervisor off because it's not how you know who you blow, it's how you blow who you know. People are going to be asked by their boss to simp for their business. People are going to curate their profile to try and put on a good face. Tbth, when I've been involved in the interview process, a mostly blank LinkedIn wasn't much worse off than a busy, highly curated one; though a bad LinkedIn profile would hurt a candidate. When I say bad, I mean that I think of LinkedIn as a snapshot of what someone is like to work with; if your feed is full of you being needlessly contentious on other people's posts, that suggests to me that that's how it'll be to work with you; if your feed is full of religious proselytizing and Facebooky political junk, then that doesn't inspire a lot of optimism for how it'll be to work with you, etc. Whereas I tend to dismiss a highly curated LinkedIn as basically fake bullshit anyway.
So for my part, LinkedIn is more of an opportunity for people to self-report than anything.
