Boycott it is then. I don't have time to play slop that runs like shit on a low powered device with joycons that are built like shit. $500 for a trash container of silicon and plastic.

There's enough older games to keep me occupied for the rest of my life. Honestly, tinkering with Linux, scripting, programming, and building computers has taken over my gaming hobby. A game needs to be good or at least decent and something that doesn't require me to play hours I don't have nonstop (I like games that make 30 minute sessions fun, easy to save, and come back to) to be worth my time.

Pirating games on my Steam Deck is the only reason I've been able to play games every now and then sustainably.

I really would prefer alternatives to Nintendo core game franchises at this point. I'm sick of greedy Mario.

AES countries seem to be doing gaming better than the West now. I hope China combines their flowering gaming and tech industries and begins supporting development of open source games on open source hardware and operating systems. It doesn't even need to be triple AAA. There's a lot of cool games coming from smaller Chinese studios, such as A Bustling World developed by FireWo Games and published by Lightning Games. This is really the only game I am hyped for, and I hope it succeeds.

100% agree with you on the piracy. the only reason im able to play any games is piracy. if i couldn’t pirate these games i would just never play them because they’re not worth the money they’re being “sold” for- especially considering you’re not actually buying the game but the license to use it which can be revoked at any minute
