Summary

A Russian missile strike hit a hotel in Kryvyi Rih, Ukraine, where U.S., U.K., and Ukrainian humanitarian volunteers were staying. They survived, but four others were killed, and over 30 were injured.

Zelensky condemned the attack and urged continued pressure on Russia. Meanwhile, Trump is pushing for peace talks, pausing U.S. military aid and intelligence sharing after a dispute with Zelensky.

Critics fear Russia now has leverage in negotiations, as Europe struggles to fill the gap left by reduced American support.

What we need is a Pearl harbour. Something so outrageous that trump will be forced to act against Russia.

Trump's Pearl Harbor would be if someone bombed a Trump Tower affecting only the Trump sign.

Our right wing populist Nigel farage had a milkshake chucked at him once. Photos of him all over the newspapers covered in pink gunk. Just sayin.

I don't know, if in my country the government started to fire public employees just because a billionaire is on a ketamine overdose, there will be rioting in the street and the parliament will be set on fire. Instead all I'm seeing is "leopards ate my face" news pieces where they interview some fired federal employee that voted for Trump

Trump will blame someone else rather than his best friend Putin

he also binges on alcohol and cocaine, someone mentioned he would be anesthetized way before oding on ketamine.

[–] NotLemming@lemm.ee 1 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I don't think you can really OD on ketamine. Not so you would stop breathing etc. He does have the bloated, unhealthy face of an addict but he's a billionaire, he'll probably have a long life.

His name is Trump. Russia completed sidelined America's military.

No what we need is Americans to finally get a spine and topple their dictator. The world and US' future can't wait for year long courts that will likely result in nothing actionable anyway.

[–] NotLemming@lemm.ee 2 points 2 days ago

Which year long courts?

Lol how do you think the aftermath of Pearl Harbour would have gone if someone like Trump was in power instead of FDR? He is the commander in chief. Nothing will happen.

It could potentially stop Americans from sleepwalking into the decline of their country, perhaps. Maybe even generate the political will to get rid of Trump. But none of that is even close to happening. The easy road off this path hasn't been available since last November. The path out of this mess now necessary leads through suffering.

[–] Ledericas@lemm.ee 3 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

trump is obssessed with hitler, so he would probably join hitler in his war effort, also because alot of nazi elements came from USA segregationist/racist policies too.

[–] NotLemming@lemm.ee 1 points 1 day ago

If pearl harbour 2.0 happened, eg North Korea attacked the US and the american people knew that Putin was behind it... I think they would rise up against trump if he didn't take action. Thing is, trumps nothing if not an opportunist, he'd know that. So he'd do at least the minimum to placate the people. He'd have no choice.

[–] ZoopZeZoop@lemmy.world 15 points 2 days ago (2 children)

The problem is Trump doesn't care about soldiers, Americans, or people other than himself. Maybe Congress could be pressured to act, though.

[–] NotLemming@lemm.ee 9 points 2 days ago (1 children)

He cares about looking bad, or weak

[–] stringere@sh.itjust.works 7 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Then why does he keep doing both?

[–] NotLemming@lemm.ee 3 points 1 day ago

Because in his mind, that's not what's happening. He uses different assessment criteria, and it's pretty much what would be the court of public opinion in one of those trashy poverty porn shows like Jeremy Kyle. Maybe the US equivalent is judge Judy.

[–] Ledericas@lemm.ee 4 points 1 day ago

"SUckers and losers, whats in it for them", " i dont like people that are capture or killed"- TRUMP said this.
