The point is that a record someone has about you should not be the thing that defines you. Is that such an odd take and/or did I fail miserably to communicate that?
If that's what you intended to communicate, you missed your mark by a mile when you insulted them by telling them they needed to "touch grass".
You are right, that was way too much and I would have never said that to anyone directly. Only here with 3rd person in anonymity.
