Donald Trump has said that Palestinians have “no alternative” but to leave Gaza due to the devastation left by Israel’s war on Hamas, in effect endorsing ethnic cleansing of the territory over the opposition of Palestinians and the neighbouring countries.

Speaking as he prepared to host Israel’s prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, on Tuesday, Trump repeated the suggestion that Gaza’s population should be relocated to Jordan and Egypt – something both countries have firmly rejected.

Trump claimed Palestinians would “love to leave Gaza”, telling reporters: “I would think that they would be thrilled.”

As I said, I haven't seen an ounce of compassion from you for all the brown and queer people facing a genocide in the U.S. right now.

You couldn't even sum up a "I feel bad for them" after I pointed that out, so I guess that shows what and who you think should be ignored.

[–] NewDark@lemmings.world 1 points 2 hours ago (1 children)

If you cared about queers and minorities, you would be demanding the opposition take popular positions in order to win, right?

[–] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 0 points 2 hours ago (1 children)

I have literally had to flee the country with my gay daughter because of people like you, so don't give me any of that shit about me not caring when you still haven't been able to say anything about their suffering.

[–] NewDark@lemmings.world 1 points 1 hour ago (1 children)

No, you theoretically have to flee because of the fascists that have taken power. The fascists are your enemy. I don't want them in power, I just recognize why they are now.

[–] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 1 points 1 hour ago* (last edited 1 hour ago) (1 children)

Theoretically? Again, I literally did it. On inauguration day.

You are not even reading my posts.

Also, in my eyes, there is no real difference between a fascist and someone who will stand uncaring as fascists oppress queer people.

[–] NewDark@lemmings.world 1 points 1 hour ago (1 children)

You did flee. There aren't gay concentration camps and shit or executive orders targeting anyone just being gay (trans yes). Theoretically is on the 'need'

[–] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 1 points 1 hour ago (1 children)

Do you know how many years it took from Hitler becoming chancellor to the Final Solution?

Seven.

Seven years.

Presumably you would have told any fleeing Jew or Roma or queer person when Hitler took power that the genocide was only theoretical, so they had no need to escape.

Quite the position of privilege you're in.

[–] NewDark@lemmings.world 1 points 1 hour ago (1 children)

Says the person privileged enough to flee the country and also not be on the receiving end of a genocide. I am privileged, correct. Doesn't change the analysis.

[–] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 1 points 1 hour ago (1 children)

It most certainly doesn't change my analysis that you have no compassion for queer and brown people facing a genocide since you still have expressed none for them, and now are implying that there isn't even a danger.

[–] NewDark@lemmings.world 1 points 1 hour ago (1 children)

Oh we are absolutely doing 'the first solution', the 'Madagascar plan' for undocumented people right now. Ice is a modern day gestapo. We already are concentrating people in gitmo. I think concern for gay folk is a little overblown, right now. Trans people are obviously the next concern after migrants. These things are real and happening. It's fascist shit. I don't want this, I don't know why you're implying I don't care.

[–] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 0 points 1 hour ago (1 children)

I don’t know why you’re implying I don’t care.

Because I've literally pointed out multiple times that you have shown no compassion for queer and brown people and what they are facing and you refuse to show any. Over and over, when given the opportunity, you showed that you could not give less of a shit about them.

Suddenly saying "I don't want this" is not compassion. This has nothing to do with what you want.

So I am doing more than implying you don't care. You've been given ample opportunity to show you care and have not taken it.

[–] NewDark@lemmings.world 1 points 1 hour ago (1 children)

Do you care about Palestinians?

[–] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 0 points 54 minutes ago

Yes. To the point that I have spent hours every week both trying my hardest to contact politicians on their behalf and finding Palestinians to talk to so that I can hear their problems and sympathize with them.

And you have just squandered yet another opportunity to show you care about queer or brown people. Even if you claimed you cared at this point, it's really obvious that you don't.
