MODERATORS

The media has gone bananas over this Florida man on a carnivore diet who was eating 6 – 9 pounds of beef, butter and cheese daily and started “oozing” cholesterol from his skin. Is this this real report? Or is it problematic propaganda. In six minutes, I’ll reveal to you the real problem that this report brings to light. And, spoiler alert, the problem isn’t the meat.

One commentator said I, personally, was inconsolable over this case study. Let's see how a professional researcher breaks it down.

This case report, and the media frenzy around it have demonstrated how politicized the nutrition space has become. Surely we can blame media a bit for creating sensational headlines, but clearly there is an agenda to vilify LCHF/Carnivore by any means necessary.

One of the earlier lemmy discussions about this: https://hackertalks.com/post/6184904

You can see from the tone of conversation, there were people who only wanted to knock down other people's medical interventions rather then deal with the science of this case report.

NOBODY SHOULD BE EATING 10lbs of butter per day! THATS CRAZY

As Nick said "Propaganda to get them clicks and targeted against a stigmatized extreme dietary pattern that doesn't align with what the status quo deems as "normal" or "healthy"".. i.e. not science.
