A politician from one of the modern countries that still imprisons people for lese-majesty wants to end social media anonymity? Sounds like a great idea!

If you offend the royal family you can get punished. There was a case some year back about a rapper that sought asylum in the Netherlands or Belgium I think, as he risked imprisonment in Spain due to his song lyrics criticizing the royal family. It's crazy to me that one could seek asylum fron an EU country in a different EU country

What's crazy is that there's a risk they'd prosecute someone just for talking shit about the monarchy.

There is a solution to the monarchies problem of people shit talking about them. Don't be part of a monarchy.

If they need help not being part of the monarchy, I'm sure there is something we can do for them.

To add insult to injury, Spanish Monarchy died ages ago. The house of Borbon is a French monarchy line. When they didn't want them in France they should have just gone away, not moved to leech off the next door's neighbor.
