NEW YORK, Jan 24 (Reuters) - The Palestinian militant group Hamas has recruited between 10,000 and 15,000 members since the start of its war with Israel, according to two congressional sources briefed on U.S. intelligence, suggesting the Iran-backed fighters could remain a persistent threat to Israel.

The intelligence indicates a similar number of Hamas fighters have been killed during that period, the sources said. The latest official U.S. estimates have not been previously reported.'

You're telling me that indiscriminately killing brothers, sisters, father, mothers, kids, and uncles while systematically destroying the entirety of civil infrastructure isn't effective in countering militant resistance movements? Wow I'm shocked!

It was never about destroying Hamas. Netanyahu needs Hamas to justify his genocide.

Crazy how this strategy didn't work the hundreds of times the US tried before and still doesn't work. It's almost like it makes everything worse, empowering rogue militias and overall just destabilizing regions.

Almost like the purpose isn't to stabilize regions but to create regions of perpetual warfare and instability. That would only benefit people in the business of warfare, like the main exporters of weapons in the world.

I know, who would have thought that destroying everything people value and taking away every semblance of hope for a safe and prosperous future might drive people to undertake dangerous, desperate actions to try and regain some control and structure to their lives
