It's not about DNA; it's about β€œcrab-like” being an optimal shape for something that has to move itself in and manipulate a variety of environments.

It doesn't matter if it's an arthropod or a robot. Crab-like is almost always optimal.

Optimal for Earth environments.

A crab body would not work if life evolved on a gas giant.
