I'm not sure if it's intended behavior but opening or closing the Alchemy Guide when you've already selected ingredients (scroll of identification in this instance) at the Alchemy Pot clears the ingredients that are already selected (on PC, not sure about the other platforms).

That is intended unfortunately. Showing/hiding the guide resets the scene, which includes cleaning out the items you have prepared. Is there much of a reason to swap between having the guide out and hidden?

When I was learning the game I relied on the guide very heavily, so was constantly opening it and closing it double checking things, so this was a bit of a drag. Now I know most of the recipes by heart I barely notice the fact the pot gets emptied.

It's a shame it resets the [repeat ingredients] button as well. IMO it should remember the last use ingredients indefinitely, it's kind of un-intuitive.
