You can hire colonizers to your village and deliberately send them out to get killed by pirates... for negative loot?
Sadly the intended way to play this league is to exploit the resources of a "land without a people for a people without a land" and send them back to the colonizer's islands. However, the game is itself pretty anti-colonialist in its narrative; e.g. one of the playable characters is exiled for carrying out a slave rebellion and killing his masters (which the game paints in a positive light). I think narratively this league mechanic probably won't posit the player as the good guys, and probably will have some complications morally.
