For some reason I can only find stock images of this pill case. I have it on good authority it makes a satisfying clicking noise and my gay, neurodivergent ass wants one.

Ideally not an Amazon link, I deleted my account a bit ago and I do not plan to make a new one.

UPDATE: It would seems this is a prepackaged way E is sometimes distributed. Thanks to folks that pointed this out.

Found out tonight that my mom is in the hospital and been diagnosed with late stage lung cancer. I've been low contact with her since shortly after coming out. It sounds like they don't expect her to leave.

Questions for potential candidates:

  1. What is your vision for this community

  2. What time zone/country are you in

  3. Do you have mod experience with reddit or Lemmy

  4. What do you like about c/trans? What would you improve?

  5. Do you have experience with using bots on Lemmy and with the python language?

Note: there are no right and wrong answers to these questions. The only hard requirement that we have to be a mod is that you have to be an active member of the community and have a history of that.

Edit: The new mods have been selected. Thank you to everyone who applied.

After helping some others on here, I realized its both OK, and a good idea for me to ask for help with my current situation. I've posted some details about my situation before, but I tried to write a more concise explanation on my fundraising page.

Thanks for even bothering to read this, and for any help you may be able to give. Thank you 💜💜💜

Y'all, we have a problem.

These are some of the results of a survey done on our community concerning gender identity:

1.08% Binary Trans men (4).

1.08% Transmasculine people (4).

1.35% Cis women (5).

That's right, there are more CIS WOMEN on a TRANS community than binary trans men or transmasculine people alone.

We have a problem.

This isn't just a Blahaj problem. Another queer instance did a similar survey and found only 3% of their users were trans and use he/him pronouns.

Not having enough transmasc voices is going to be detrimental to our community. There are plenty of transmasc people on the internet. The problem is with Lemmy.

So what are we gonna do about it?

For context, these are the results of a survey that I gave to the users of c/Trans.

What are your thoughts?

https://hexbear.net/post/2226865

You can find further details on how the survey was conducted here (yes I was drunk the whole time). 158 people responded yes or maybe. Noticed the survey here recently and wanted to share.

That last bit of defense before fully realizing your inner beauty 💜

EDIT: Don't vote on this poll if you don't interact/lurk in this community somewhat regularly. This survey is for those people.

Hi everyone,

I made a survey to better gauge the demographics of this community. I don't have any reason to, just doing it out of curiosity.

I'm glad that everyone felt free to talk about it in detail and have some good discussion on my previous post, but it made it hard to count all those comments up. Someone suggested that I do this to get more accurate results.

The poll ends on April 6th at 11pm. I'll post the results when it's over. You can also view the live results of the poll on the website.

Might make a future one for sexuality. Data is fun, what can I say.

What are your predictions for this poll?

What does "non-binary" mean? (lemmy.blahaj.zone)
submitted 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago) by dandelion@lemmy.blahaj.zone to c/trans@lemmy.blahaj.zone

Non-binary seems like it could have several non-compatible meanings, so I wanted to list some of those meanings and see if there are any others out there I don't know.

One way I could think of non-binary is as being a kind of third gender category, like there are men, women, and non-binary people. In this sense of non-binary a butch woman who considers themselves a woman would not be non-binary because they are a woman.

Sometimes non-binary is used like "genderqueer" is sometimes used, as a generic description of anyone who doesn't fit perfectly in the narrow confines of the binary genders (i.e. men and women). In this sense a butch woman could see themselves as a woman, but also as genderqueer and non-binary, as they do not conform to binary gender norms for women.

Another way non-binary seems to be used (related to genderqueer in its historical context) is as a political term, an identity taken up by otherwise cis-sexual and even cis-gendered people who wish to resist binary gender norms and policing. In this sense even a femme cis-sexual woman might identify as non-binary. Sometimes this political identity label might come with a gender expression that cuts against the gender expectations for the assigned sex at birth, but it doesn't have to. (I recently met two people whose gender expressions matched their assigned sex at birth but who identified as non-binary in this political sense.)

I was wondering what other meanings of non-binary are out there, and how they are commonly used.

Note: gatekeeping what is "really" non-binary seems pointless to me, since I agree with Wittgenstein that "language is use".

I know people get heated about policing what a word means (and I am guilty of this myself), but in the interest of inclusion, pluralism, and general cooperation in our community I think we can find a way to communicate with overlapping and different meanings of a shared term.

I likely accidentally counted people twice or skipped someone, but regardless here's a general idea of the makeup of our population from the sample size of the post I made.

Also, it shortened transmasculine/feminine nonbinary on the graph.

I typed in the value for cis women as zero, and it didn't show up on the chart so keep that in mind.

Socially, medically, or otherwise.

Unexpected T pro: my cat loves aggressively head butting my facial scruff after a day or two of not shaving

Unexpected T con: my cat’s hair gets caught up in my facial hair any time I do this and it’s annoying to get it all out

I'm curious about the makeup of this community. Might make a graph later.

[Lie] Okay so, cowboycrustation says I have to post or he's gonna pinch me 🙀

I currently seem to be somewhat less doomed than previously seemed likely. Turns out a kind critter contacted another who called for helps and yet another popped up like "Hay, we have a room just for critters like that one!" So now I'm here in a lil room of a four-critter family's place, in neat lil area @.@ It's gonna be awkweird but I've got somewhere to be other than frozen Minnesota street doom and there are critters trying to help me so I've got at least some kinda chance of getting by up here. Am sleepy now but the looming threat of crabby pinchings and/or pinchy crabbings compels me to post something so here it is :P 😅

Lots of new experiences, too. Hanging out playing board games on the floor of my hotel room with my new friends, who didn't even know each other... that was neat 😅 Neat day. Better than the previous one. I think. I don't really know what happened that day. Anyway, some things are happenifying. Also it's kinda cold here 😅

Oh, the city looks super different than my initial impression. I suppose part of that is riding in a car versus riding a bus or train, but it looked much more familiar on the way here. Also being daytime probably helped a lot. My initial impression was like, dark and enclosed and often a lil bit lost, riding light rail with a bunch of smokers, trying to navigate Mall of America with eighty bazillion hunams in it @.@ D: 🙀 ... That sort of thing. Muchly different! Anyway, I'ma nap or something now. @.@ 😴

Here's a funny (but also FUCKKKKK) moment that just happened to me. Figured y'all would like to hear.

So there's this large group chat for students that are going to the college I plan on transferring to in the fall. I was trying to send a link to the course catalog projection but my dumb ass accidentally sent this instead:

https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.1111/andr.12278

I immediately deleted it but like two people saw it immediately cuz of the link preview. I have no clue if it briefly shows to people who just open up the chat or not. I said "oops, was helping a friend look for stuff" trying to play it cool 😑. I may or may not have accidentally just outed myself to an entire group of people.

Do you have "that one thing" that always feels affirming? Something that you continuously return to because you know it'll make your day better?

For this particularly day.
Except the NSFW content, there is a lot of interesting stuffs.
Don't hesitate to remove if unappropriated.
There is retrospective in the past, so that can be violent too in the choice of words and the representations.

cross-posted from: https://lemmy.ml/post/13866244

Pour l'occasion de la date (transgender day),
Forcement, ça peut être violent comme représentation vu que c'est une rétrospection.
Mais pas mal de contenu intéressant malgré la présence de chair. Et oui !

Hello everyone,

This is regarding Keris, also known as RiikkaTheIcePrincess. Link to the previous post.

The last post that I made about Keris got a lot of engagement. She was able to get some financial help and other support, which was great, however their housing situation is still non-existent. The person who offered to let them stay in a couple of weeks fell through, so they have nowhere to go. Keris did make it safely to Minneapolis and is staying in a hotel until Monday. That means that they need a place to stay ASAP.

They really, really, need a place to stay while they search for a job. This is the thing that they most need right now. If anybody in the Minneapolis area has a spare bed, couch, or floor for her to sleep on, that would be a lifesaver. Seriously. Even if it's just for a week or a few days, it would be a huge help and would keep them off the streets for the time being while they figure things out and get back on their feet.

I understand that this isn't the usual type of content on this community, but it's a very time sensitive thing. There are projects in the works to assist future people who are in need on here, but for now this is all there is.

Keris said that she greatly appreciates everyone who has helped out with advice, support, resources, and donations so far.

Edit: Read her comment below for some corrections and clarifications.
