While promoting the interview on X, Carlson praised Cooper as “the best and most honest popular historian in the United States.”

Article is actually kinda thin, to be honest. But the couch-fucker gets clicks, I guess.

But evangelical leaders warn that’s no guarantee their rank and file will stay involved in politics if Republicans abandon socially conservative issues, like abortion and gay marriage, even as they lean in on others, like banning transgender kids from participating in youth sports. In July, Trump nearly sparked a platform fight at the Republican National Convention over language that couched abortion as primarily in the hands of the states, a position anti-abortion advocates almost uniformly oppose.

We can only hope that he continues to piss them off and they abandon him.

How you can say something like that and not be run out of politics is stunning, but that’s how far we’ve fallen. Dude also was addicted to porn booths in the 90s.

A New York judge has moved the sentencing in Donald Trump‘s hush money trial to after the election, on November 26. “The public’s confidence in the integrity of our judicial system demands a sentencing hearing that is entirely focused on the verdict of the jury and the weighing of aggravating and mitigating factors free from […]

Donald Trump’s running mate, JD Vance, said in the wake of the deadly school shooting in Georgia that the massacres are sadly a “fact of life” and offered ways to fortify schools to make them safer against gun violence.

Kamala Harris put out a statement with Vance’s comments and called for “action to keep our children safe and keep guns out of the hands of criminals.”

And it appeared to strike a nerve with team Trump that she used Vance’s comments against them.

“Kamala’s interns just released a statement pushing FAKE NEWS,” Trump War Room posted to X with its more than 2 million followers. “Watch the full video and you’ll clearly see that JD Vance does not say what they claim he said. These morons do nothing but lie every single day.”

Except Harris’ campaign shared the same video.

Here’s what Vance had to say:

“I don’t like that this is a fact of life,” he said. “But if you are a psycho and you want to make headlines, you realize that our schools are soft targets. And we have got to bolster security at our schools. We’ve got to bolster security so if a psycho wants to walk through the front door and kill a bunch of children they’re not able.”

Vance said he doesn’t like the idea of his own kids going to a school with hardened security, “but that’s increasingly the reality that we live in.”

All of that was in what Harris’ campaign shared with her joint statement on the shooting with running mate Tim Walz. Vance said what team Trump said Vance didn’t say and accused the Harris campaign of distorting.

On Sept. 1, Texas is slated to open its new business courts, a brand-new legal system backed by Big Oil — and several of the court’s main judges have in the past represented fossil fuel companies as lawyers, The Lever has found.

The judges were hand-picked over the last two months by Texas Republican Gov. Greg Abbott, a major recipient of oil industry cash — and many can be quickly replaced if they hand down decisions he opposes, a judicial design that he championed.

The courts consist of 11 regional business courts and a new statewide court of appeals to hear appellate litigation, which are expected to have immediate impacts on environmental cases in the state. As Public Health Watch, an independent investigative news organization, reported last month, a suite of cases involving state environmental authorities will now be transferred from a generally liberal appeals court to the state’s new Fifteenth Court of Appeals, created to oversee the business courts.

There, these cases will be decided by a panel of conservative judges historically friendly to industry — particularly oil and gas interests, a powerful force in Texas.

Kamala Harris raised triple the amount of her opponent in this election, Donald Trump, last month, in what her campaign claimed was the best grassroots fundraising month in presidential history.

With less than 60 days until the 2024 presidential election, the campaign team for Harris, the Democratic party’s nominee for president, following the departure of US president Joe Biden from his re-election race in July, announced on Friday that it raised $361m in the month of August.

Harris, the US vice-president, outpaced the $130m raised by the Trump campaign almost threefold, the Associated Press reported.

The two Trump campaign staffers accused of being involved in a dispute with an Arlington National Cemetery official have been identified, according to a report from NPR.

The broadcaster broke the allegations last week, revealing how two Trump staffers—whom it did not identify—got into a physical and verbal altercation with an Arlington employee who told them they couldn’t take photos in the cemetery’s Section 60.

The staffers involved in the incident were identified by a source Thursday as Justin Caporale, a deputy campaign manager, and Michel Picard, a member of the Republican nominee’s advance team.

President Joe Biden on Friday plans to sign an executive order for federal grants that would prioritize projects with labor agreements, wage standards, and benefits such as access to child care and apprenticeship programs.

The Biden administration is trying to make the case that economic growth should flow out of better conditions for workers.

“A good job is a job with security and benefits, where workers have the right to join a union, advocate for better working conditions, come home safe and healthy, and retire with dignity,” said Acting Labor Secretary Julie Su.

Ohio Senator and Republican vice presidential nominee JD Vance is standing by former Fox News host Tucker Carlson amid widespread outrage over a recent interview in which Carlson and his guest, Darryl Cooper, whitewashed the actions of Adolf Hitler as well as the Holocaust.

In the interview, Carlson said he was “highly distressed by the uses to which the myths about World War Two have been put in the context of modern foreign policy — particularly the war in Ukraine.”

“You know, Churchill’s the good guy, Neville Chamberlain’s the bad guy. You know, it’s just, it’s too pat, it’s too, obviously, quite banal. But it also has justified, like, the killing of millions of people since the end of the Second World War. And so I do think it’s fair to ask like ‘What really was going on?’ So, for example, I’m American, I’m not English, so I don’t have any weird motive in asking this, but how would you assess Winston Churchill?” he asked.
