Thank you for your reply! When it comes to HRT, I plan on buying over tor or similar...I'm pretty set on not getting any via insurance because I want to avoid having any records kept...this administration would likely use that against me at some point, plus I'm an immigrant, so it just seems prudent to avoid a paper trail as much as possible for this stuff. I need to get a job and earn some money, but I plan on doing all the research and buy what I need when I can - including referring back to some of what you have said here, so thank you.
My biggest issue is making some in person friends....I'd really love to get some help with clothes, makeup, a few other things and have someone I could attend support meetings with. I'm completely lost how to find that in real life, though. Are there some meetups for pre-transition transwomen? Or any other kinds of meetups I might not stick out like a sore thumb and could maybe make some new friends? When I can I plan to move to a new city and maybe try committing full time if I can find somewhere I feel safe.
Are there any communities in the fediverse with classifieds for housing and such similar to what Facebook has?
I found Facebook groups for different cities to be a very useful resource in the past when trying to find a room, or seeking mutual aid. I would love to be able to find a similar thing in the fediverse, where I could find a type of 'queer exchange' group for a city to find trans or lgbtqia housemates and feel safe/vetted instead of just going into the wild west of craigslist.
