From Youtube video descripition: "A new way to elect the EU president? No more VETO voting? The European Parliament has set the stage for a potential seismic shift towards a more federalized European Union with a new proposal that seeks to alter the bloc's fabric in three substantial ways. This initiative calls for a comprehensive reshaping of EU institutions, exemplified by changes to the presidential election process and the veto vote mechanism. It also advocates for expanding EU competencies, granting the Union greater exclusive powers that may redefine the balance between EU governance and national sovereignty. Finally, it proposes a robust enforcement of EU authority by amending the consensus requirement of Article 7, thus streamlining the Union's ability to act decisively. This compact yet potent set of reforms could mark a pivotal point in the evolution of the EU's political dynamics."

This is nonsense. MAGA is a fascist movement. Don't let both being neo-liberal blind you.

But politicians elsewhere need israeli support (to get voted they believe)

European press roundup (www.eurotopics.net)
submitted 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago) by thilo@lemmy.ml to c/europe@feddit.de

Hello everyone, i am always on the search for good press roundups. Sadly they are sparse since they are a costly effort. This one is funded by the german federal center of political education.

I would appreciate it if you could link me to similar efforts of other european countries if there are any.

Sorry I only looked at the pictures and did not read the text jet. I will read it on some commute tomorrow. But the pictures are frightening as the recent global rise of fascism is. I'm worried of the times to come.

For me this sounds not too (in relative terms) bad, on Zelensky's part. I live in the EU and many (possibly all) of our member states are rather bad at handling Neo-nazis (This is actually one of our most pressing issues, but broadly ignored by the public).

failing to control the neo-Nazi paramilitaries in their midst, then allowing those paramilitaries to violate the Minsk agreements

This. The later parts I have read about.

Have you ever come by the term: wicked problem? Secession movements are a prime example of a wicked problem.

And then I read the article and remembered: reality is more complicated then good-bad.

I see the naming being the next difficult topic.
