a lot of these shelters will also prohibit substances on the premises and not all of them involve treatment programs, so if you are addicted to a substance (usually fentanyl right now), you'd have to go cold turkey just for housing. you're expected to get clean on the street and then get housing.

pointing out foreign policy mistakes is significantly different from claiming that deng executed a coup that made china capitalist

its definitely still a thing in some irl spaces actually. i've seen atheist groups irl that will espouse new atheist cringe talking points insulting all religions. they do sometimes go after christians too, at least, but it seems like a lot of what they do is go after islam.

the right trying to “stop tyranny” is like the body trying to stop its own heart from beating.

of course the US government will never crack down on far-right terrorism, then they'd be stopping their own activities. this is purely just my leftist proposition of something that must happen to stop a lot of mass shootings. obviously, though, the US state is more interested in protecting the profits of the gun industry and the activities of the right. this would be an essential thing for a proletarian revolutionary state to do though.

definitely the latter. i think somehow a CIA handler got a hold of him and is using him. i remember he previously attained some meme status when he made a video advertising himself to potential girlfriends online that spread around a little bit.

of course there will be shared traits among life (assuming extraterrestrial life would also be carbon based), but yeah it depends and at this point is just speculation with no basis unfortunately.

rising storm 2 lets you play in multiplayer matches as the people's army of vietnam/national liberation front fighting against american imperialist invaders. you can use traps on them, blow their helicopters out of the sky, etc.

screamo is usually regarded as a different thing than death metal, i think you may just mean deathcore. and to each their own, from a metal listener it’s definitely about the anger but also it’s just pleasant to listen to. the heavy rhythmic elements are really enjoyable and satisfying to listen to. when it comes to the vocals, it’s kinda within the style to sound like that, the vocals are treated as an instrument like the guitars or drums are and usually you aren’t supposed to understand the lyrics anyways.

there are problems with nazi presence in extreme metal, and because the genre is so heavily white, cis, and male, it can end up with reactionaries being allowed to stay. but on the other end of extreme metal you can find a lot of queer people and women making great shit as well as bands that are very leftist or at least hold some of those ideals. i myself am a trans woman in the extreme metal scene and it’s really a 50/50 chance if a space is reactionary or not but overall i love the welcoming spaces i’ve found.

its quickly becoming a favorite, but king gizzard's new album petrodragonic apocalypse definitely ranks up there. overall favorite albums are probably human by death, shed by title fight, or fear of music by talking heads. all of kraftwerk's albums are also pretty close to favorites, especially "the mix", a re-recording of all their hits where they somehow take their masterpieces and make them even better. i own the mix on tape and listen to it almost every day lol
