Es gibt aber auch Bedenken gegen das Magnetfischen. Umweltschützer weisen auf den sensiblen Seegrund und auf Laichgebiete hin. Durch die Magnete werde der Seegrund aufgewirbelt, Laichplätze könnten gestört werden. Deshalb überlegt das Land Baden-Württemberg, das Magnetangeln zu verbieten.
