It was kinda a hoax. Not the problem itself, it did exist, but everything in 1999 was "y2k compliant". Especially things that couldn't be affected by the issue (like toasters and what have you).

It was not a hoax, but it was hoax adjacent.

I won't say they're not making it up, but their screenshot has "AI overview", yours doesn't. It is probable that "normal" google gives different results than "AI" Google.

People mentioned a lot of things. I'll add that plex doesn't offer hardware transcoding without premium. Now, setting up hardware transcoding on an NVidia graphics card on linux is a bit complicated, setting it up on windows is really simple. While it's not just clicking "enable hardware acceleration", it's not much more complicated than that.

Croatian "Ovce i novce" - literally sheep and the money. Same meaning as have your cake and eat it. "Kašika mu u med pala" - spoon fell into honey, meaning he got lucky "Tako ti je grah pao" - this is the way beans fell, meaning it is what it is "Izvukao si deblji kraj" - you got the fatter end, opposite meaning from you got the shorter end. It's kind of a weird one, as it is also sometimes used to mean the same as the shorter end. "Da ti dupe puta vidi" - so your behind can see the trip. Meaning to travel for no special reason, usually used when a reason is given, but is probably just an excuse to travel

GDPR isn't about where the site is hosted, but whether it caters to EU citizens or not. So, if a lemmy instance allows EU citizens to register and/or visit, GDPR applies to them.

Skramble on C64. It was a lot of fun figuring out what it is, how to play, etc.

Regarding RCD, where I live they're allowed to be 30mA for wires that do not include outlets, but if an outlet is connected to the switch, the switch must cut off at 3mA..

Regarding the outlets, the type C is old, I haven't seen those installed or sold since at least the early nineties (probably even earlier). I don't understand why it being reversible is bad. I think switches can just cut of both wires, and you're left with the ability to plug it in any way you like. I don't really know whether the switches actually do that or not (or, if they're required to do that). Can this be tested somehow?

I bought it last month on sale. It was on sale, but kind of weird, the game itself wasn't on sale, nor were the dlcs, but the game with dlcs was on sale (and was cheaper than just the game).

I like the game. Reminds me of ufo-enemy unknown from way back.
