I’m writing a small music player to test it. The experience is pretty smooth, lots of examples and built in stuff. It’s a bit rough around the edges but I’d recommend it to anyone who likes rust
That was really nice
For storing state, I’d look at SQLite first. turbosql is a wrapper that looks like it’s a joy to use and I’ve been looking for an excuse to try it for a while :)
I recently tried pikapods (https://www.pikapods.com/), they provide a pretty easy and stable way to run software like immich. The prices are reasonable as well, I’d say.
Cool project, I’ve been looking for something like this!
Galactic north really got me deep, after finishing the main trilogy. Id recommend reading it after for the full effect
Search for the pushshift archives. They are big files containing all the posts and comments made for each subreddit. I used them to make a better website for reading AskHistorians.
Yes! Archiving is crucial work, but the archives need to be accessible as well :)
Getting the wiki in there might be possible by scraping, but it's a lot of work and tricky to do - right now I only have the posts and comments available.
I'll build upvote sorting soon :)
I use Kleinanzeigen a lot, there are many users and no catch when posting an ad. They monetize by selling premium features to push your ad up in the listings. The worst part is probably the people trying to push the price down in the DMs. There was even a subreddit for memes about that (/r/wasletztepreis)
If you like solar fields, try Asura (also on ultimae records)! Also, hinkstep is pretty nice but has vocals some of the time.
