Looking For Mods (lemmy.world)

Hey people its your friendly neighbourhood mod here. As the title suggests I am looking for 3 new mods for this community. To be fair I am pretty sick of how this instance is managed and I'd rather not make any contributions to it, thats why I will be stepping down as a mod.

If you are interested write some stuff about why you'd like to be a mod for this community, the new mods will be chosen in a week. If nobody is interested the community will keep going unmoderated.

Thanks in advance

The origin of the concept was a post on r/CrappyDesign featuring an edited image from this WikiHow article.

How much did big olive pay you to say this

For torrenting. I am not aware of them exposing users but people were saying that if they get hacked or cracked down by the police it may get problematic.

RealDebrid Payment (lemmy.world)

Hello people, I've been thinking of getting a RealDebrid account thanks to the recommendation of some folks here but people are saying that the RealDebrid is keeping logs on their users so I am trying to get an account using a VPN. The issue is that if you are using a VPN the only payment option is through Coinbase which I have no idea how to use.

My question is that how have you folks have paid for it anonymously and what you'd suggest for the payment.

I already have a laptop with linux on it that I use to try out some stuff I see on this community. But I use the Windows PC mainly for Everyday stuff and Gaming. So I'd rather keep the current OS but thanks for the suggestion anyways.

Windows Activation (lemmy.world)

Hello people I have recently changed my CPU, Motherboard and RAMs so I was planning on reinstalling windows on my PC. Last time I installed Windows was probably or so 10 years ago and I can't remember for the life of me how I activated it.

Any recommendations on activating the new install? Or is it too much trouble nowadays and should I just buy a key?

The megathread recommends using Mullvad but afaik Mullvad has stopped port forwarding support recently. I've been using Mullvad for a while (albeit not for Torrenting) how safe do you reckon is it to use Mullvad without port forwarding support for Torrents?

Hey, thanks for the answer! Could you explain briefly what sonarr or radarr does? Also if you don't mind it, could you tell me which programs/practices I should be following if I were to go through with this plan no matter how obvious it is. I am no stranger to this stuff but I can't really say I have a broad understanding of it.

Hello people I recently acquired an old(er) laptop through my workplace. I was initially planning on running a Pi-hole on it but after installing it I noticed that my router is causing issues with the Pi-hole so I gave up on that idea.

Now if I were to decide on dedicating it for piracy, would I be able to do anything that isn't viable on a general use PC that would make it less likely for these piracy activities to have legal and/or financial ramifications on me? Or would it be no different than using the PC I use for my everyday stuff?

Hello everyone!

This is the first post on this community and an announcement of sort about the community itself. This community is the lemmy.world version of my favorite subreddit. "What is it about?" you might ask or you might be saying "Hell, I'm not interested in Disneyland or any other Disney resorts!", well don't worry its very easy just find some weird, awful or downright cursed images from WikiHow and post them with a funny caption.

I created this community after a short search on lemmy. To my surprise I noticed that the community did not exist. It would be a shame if we didn't have funny WikiHow captions on lemmy.

I am in no way affiliated to the mod team on r/disneyvacation but 90% of the current sidebar is taken from the r/disneyvacation verbatim. But I hope that we can change our rules and guidelinres according to how our community grows here on lemmy.

As for the close future: As a person who lacks the creative abilities to make very funny captions, I was planning on mainly reposting of the stuff on reddit. Hopefully as the community grows we can also have our own originals here on our community.

Thanks for reading and welcome to the Disney Vacation.

I unfortunately feel like it probably will end well for them, there really isn't a mainstream alternative for reddit. Lemmy isn't that easy to get into as an average user and the information on the reddit that have amassed over the years is just insane, I assume a lot of people are going to keep using reddit as if nothing has happened.
