seems counter intuitive.. each incognito window should be separated into their containers.

seems like a good idea to take that container addon and apply that to incognito.

Might I add brave's BAT wallet is garbage. You had to sign up to some random exchange and upload your ID (I didn't), but even that you couldn't even backup your wallet into a new install, so hope that you would never have to format or reinstall or change devices - it'll be a pain to restore, if it was even possible.

Firefox over brave any day.

hey everyone a friendly reminder that alternatives exist, and just drop this shit fast and move to better alternatives. In this case firefox.

why are people indulging this company after all they did?

[-] moonmeow@lemmy.ml 43 points 11 months ago

ya, using the internet without an adblocker is a security risk because Google enables scams across its services.

How about they learn to clean house first before shitting on the internet lol.

incompetent company will do incompetent things.

good stuff, glad to see this opposition.

Also slightly related, but I'd absolutely hate if I were an employee having to work on this project and having my name attached to this. Quite embarrassing for all those involved.

At this point where he is basically stripping the site of its users (paid + limits) and branding (removing the twitter bird) why didn't he just start up his own social media site and slow grow it instead of wasting money to pillage the competitor and then strip it of everything that made it what it was, i.e., the user base and the brand recognition?

why are they trying to restrict and control the internet? on the plus side I guess I'll go outside more, touch grass, forget this crap exists and enjoy other facets of life. It's just sad to see it be transformed into this pile of crap.

It's truly this simple and very liberating to be reminded of this.

How about we go a step further and save them the labor; just announce to me your intent on implementing DRM on websites, out of all things, and I'd just block my devices from visiting that entire site because why waste my time.

Many of these tech or media companies need us more than we need them.

You can at least view threads without logging in? That's better than instagram usually forces login. Still won't use it.

Yes. I plan on using lemmy over reddit from now on. There are enough similar communities here. I'll have to keep using reddit if i'm searching for something and it comes up, but i don't plan on actively using reddit anymore. They showed their true colours: a company's whole business model built around collecting and displaying user content and then has the nerve to pull that they did on 3rd party developers?

They didn't want app competition because they needed to serve ads in their app.
