That's the weird thing! I saw this video too, but I don't have those graphics options within Warzone. I only have Eco Mode Preset and Gamma/Brightness. Those are the only 2 settings on Warzone.

I don't have the HDR setting, nor the 120 Hz refresh rate setting.

The cable definitely shouldn't be the problem, as it's the one that came with the monitor. It even has a sticker that says it's HDMI High Ultra Speed, which is HDMI 2.1 according to hdmi.org.

I actually don't even mind 1440p120 if it means I can get 120. It doesn't need to be in 4k. I would prefer it of course, but I'm so confused as to why there's no 120fps at any resolution.

Yep, I still have this article open actually. Let me know what you think about the following:

  1. My monitor doesn't have a gaming mode, but it is in FPS mode. It's one of the "Preset mode"s available.
  2. Did everything on the PS5 side.
  3. Warzone doesn't have the 120 Hz Refresh Rate option under the View tab (step 9).

The article also says that the screen will go black, which is actually what happened with Battlefield 6. But no option even on Warzone.

That's the strange part, because the game graphics settings only has 2 options: Gamma/Brightness and Eco Mode Preset (which is set to Off).

I did see one screenshot once in my digging that showed the game settings and it had HDR, performance, and something else. But my game only has these two items.

My brother recently gave me a birthday gift: A Dell 27 Plus 4K Monitor - S2725QS - 27-inch 4K (3840 x 2160) 120Hz so we can play Warzone together.

No matter what I do, it doesn't seem to run 120 frames per second on this monitor.

I've looked at endless videos, articles, and blog posts.

The weird thing is that we also play Battlefield 6, and I can get it running at 120 fps there.

Why is this happening? Do I need a 144Hz monitor instead to be able to reach 120 fps? Any and all help is appreciated. Thank you.

Monitor settings:

  • Preset mode is FPS.
  • Smart HDR is on Game HDR.

PS5 settings:

  • HDR is off.
  • Performance mode enabled.

Here are my 3 Graphics tabs settings:

Interesting! This is perhaps a bit more aggressive than I imagined my app to be, but I think Mikey is doing the people's work very well. After all, a car hitting me or my kids will statistically result in a death or at least severe injury. Cars are weapons and I can no longer pretend that I'm not concerned for our safety, especially with me being the primary breadwinner in my family.

How would you structure it as a reporting tool so that it can stay away from potential law violations and thus lawsuits?

[–] maplesyrup@reddthat.com 1 points 2 months ago

But what if there is no social aspect to it? I'm not looking to code a social media app. I just want to have a database of reckless/dangerous drivers. I think it would be especially helpful if/when they crust an accident. Especially if it's a fatal one, though hopefully not of course. It's just that pedestrian deaths continue to go up and I'm afraid for everyone's safety, my own and my family's included. I have kids and it's one of my worst nightmares. I feel a strong desire to try to do something about it.

If I were to pass on the info to local representatives, wouldn't I still need to gather the data that I'm looking to collect in the first place? (Non anonymized)?

By this logic, wouldn't the app/community still be a good idea? Or are you suggesting maybe just a database where community members can submit the evidence of dangerous driving/drivers?

[–] maplesyrup@reddthat.com 2 points 3 months ago (3 children)

Realistically, you cannot remember which driver is which while riding, so doxing provides nothing of value.

But we wouldn't have to remember, since it's documented? Unless I misunderstood. And if there are repeat offenders, it is definitely easier to recognize and identify them by car and or some portion of their licence plate.

And flooding law enforcement with evidence is really the only way to fix things, only they have the power to do something.

That's great... In the united states, law enforcement isn't exactly healthy right now. And they are very hostile towards bikes/skates/pedestrians. They always side with the car at fault.

Any bike app/community that allows posting personal information?

I live in the U.S.A. and don't have a car. This means that I bike/skate/walk nearly everywhere.

Road conditions seen to have gotten worse to the point where nearly every day I'm almost hit by an irresponsible car driver.

When I'm not walking, I have a dashcam that captures the cars, license plates, and even faces.

I want to develop an app/community that allows you to report these dangerous drivers, complete with their faces whenever possible.

However as I look at other similar projects, I haven't found any that allow this. Why is this?

According to this source:

There isn’t a satisfying “yes” or “no” answer to whether doxxing is illegal.

Generally speaking, the First Amendment of the United States Constitution protects individuals’ right to publish information that is considered a matter of public concern. However, if it isn’t a matter of public concern and/or it was published with malicious intent (to intimidate or cause harm), it’s no longer protected by the First Amendment.

Would I get in legal trouble by starting this app/community?

It doesn't seem fair that they can continue to harm or almost harm us pedestrians/skaters/bikers without possible recourse.

My goal with the app would be to make people aware of these drivers, because it's of public concern.

Does something like this exist already? If not, why not? What possible ramifications would there be for this type of app? Thank you in advance.

I am jealous! I would like to make this side of the world more like that.

Nextdoor takes down these kinds of posts soon after they are posted. Sometimes they do stay up for a few days, but eventually are taken down.

Do you mean like on retainer so that they are available constantly/at all times? (Please forgive my ignorance about how hiring lawyers works.)
