It will remain only on the LAN without being reachable from the internet, does the “not https” aka “personal certificate” will be a problem?

Caddy can do local SSL certificates without needing browser exceptions.

I think to know that you can query some info from a mailserver to test if an address exists.

Yes, vrfy

For Postfix the default of disable_vrfy_command is : no So I assume you can try it risk free.

GMaps WV as mentioned in another comment : https://f-droid.org/packages/us.spotco.maps/ Last updated, June 2024.

This is a restricted WebView wrapper for accessing the web version of Google Maps. Intended for use when OpenStreetMap isn't enough.

I stopped trying after NY, Chicago and LA which were all blocked. At this point their defenses are more aggressive than my bank.

Tried Mullvad for this :

  • Germany - fine
  • Greece - blocked
  • Finland - blocked
  • Hungary - fine

I guess it's YMMV.

They aren’t protecting state secrets.

They're probably worried and with forums abuse this is quite fair.

Bookmarked. Thanks.

Though I'll have to try later some other time, I guess Tor users are blocked :

The owner of this website (www.bikeforums.net) has banned the country or region your IP address is in (TOR) from accessing this website.

According to this I think this is the Mastodon account of the Funkwhale developer https://mastodon.eliotberriot.com/@funkwhale which is down as well. The first link also has a link to their Matrix channel.

NetGuard uses a VPN connection inside the phone. NetGuard is not like a VPN server, it will just block network access for apps you want to block access for.

The discontinuation of neofetch development was big news for a lot of people, for example here : https://lemmy.ml/post/15051857 I'm happy for the software developer, now a farmer though :)

Today, 16 years ago, Debian published a security advisory announcing CVE-2008-0166, a severe bug in their OpenSSL package that effectively broke the random number generator and limited the key space to a few ten thousand keys. The vulnerability affected Debian+Ubuntu between 2006 and 2008. In 2007, an email signature system called DKIM was introduced. Is it possible that people configured DKIM in 2007, never changed their key, and are still vulnerable to CVE-2008-0166?

Hetzner (like many other providers) do not provide #OpenBSD machines.. but there is a nice #syadmin trick to install your beloved OS over whatever they provide. In this video we will see how you. In short:

  1. Create your #GNU / #Linux machine
  2. Login, wget & dd the IMG
  3. Reboot in Console and install using network installation (say http packages)
  4. Reboot in your new OS
  5. Have fun.

Codeberg was asking about this. The linked toot by a commenter points to :

These are CC-BY-SA 4.0 remixes of the Stack Exchange Creative Commons Data Dumps. 100% Unendorsed by Stack Exchange, Inc.

They are minimal. They provide the data you probably care about and the data you need to comply with the original license in SQLite format.
