@lemmy_outta_here@lemmy.world@SaveTheTuaHawk@lemmy.ca i'd reckon they're still too young to say how they'd hold up after 5 years. screens and batteries at least. i had a fold3 for a bit, mother currently has a fold7. newer phone feels way more solid, and it's only been a few months, but the screen still looks like new.
doesn't really appeal to me for what i use my phone for, but i can't say i don't get it. reading documents, emails, webpages, even just banging out texts is easier on the big screen. very competent small tablet that just folds up into a pocket or purse. either see more of what you're doing at once, or use two apps together. it makes sense for some people who use their phone as their most frequent computer, essentially
