The closest you can get is .2 or .3 cents. It's called a mill. Gas stations use it all the time.

Anyone with an AM radio has known this for decades.

I initially read that as third impact and got hopeful.

I don't know where you are. That is irrelevant. Fucking Sealand felt the results of 2016 and 2020. Maybe nothing changed that you noticed, but I would bet everything I have that it changed things. Be it UK, EU, RU, CCP, DPRK, SK, India, the entire Middle East and Egypt, South Africa, the Republic of Congo or many other African nations allll the way to places like Moldova or Sudan - the US elections did affect you, in ways that might not have been obvious.

I have to agree here. My father was a very well educated man. He has parts that he designed and manufactured by himself in the Smithsonian Aeronautical Museum, as well as parts that he designed and manufactured in the Hubble.

In the end, the fall of this intelligent man was Fox News. It is a brain worm. I loved him dearly, but the combination of conspiracy and hatred consumed him in the end. The last time I saw him, he asked to see his son. I will never recover from this.

You have every right to criticize. I really and truly do empathize with what you are saying, believe it or not. You never advocated for Trump. Things are just very tense here in the US. That isn't an excuse, but maybe an explanation for our overall behavior.

I might be at fault. I unironically wear Crocs because they are cheap, durable, and easy to clean.

Hearing this is morally reprehensible for me. Shit, here people can just buy testosterone from shady TV ads - gas stations even! Here's hoping you can find your way, and know that there's a lot of us on Lemmy that will help where we can <3

As a fellow trans woman, I'd like to give you a giant hug. I made another post entirely about our situation. I hope you stay safe and happy.

Thanks. I'll check them out. I do have to add, though, that knowing the biblical parables has my head spinning with curiosity at this point!

[โ€“] jawa21@startrek.website 31 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

You're not wrong. Yeah, I could have done better, but I'm in a self induced drunken rage.

(I know this is from a different account, but I'm OP) - I'm familiar with biblical parables, I don't have too much time to read these days, can you give me summary?

Alternate YouTube link: https://youtu.be/-kd1ouKAAVs Quality on the video here is pretty fucking good. Took me a while to source it. If you don't get the joke, I'm sorry - it is kinda niche.

I've really liked all things Trek for my entire life. From the awkward action scenes, technobabble, the occasional courtroom drama, and the ability to deliver a clever plot (at around season 2.5), to the attempts to include all people into the community, the overall themes stand true and hold an important piece in my life.

That being said, I've never been a "fan". You know, someone that really dedicates time, thought, and passion to something until I finally watched SNW. I've made the leap from someone that has always really liked Trek into someone that loves it,

There are a few reasons for this. While some may see the writing as slightly campy, I feel that the execution was not only an homage but a better delivery of TOS. The acting is overall an A, the visuals are A+, and the writers really delivered on what I'd expect from Trek; off the wall scenarios that could only be carried through by a small dedicated crew.

I don't really mean to write an essay here, but I guess this is a long way of saying that I've finally found my Trek. They're all valid. Whether you like the camp of TOS, the slow build of TNG, the continuing plot of DS9, the building tension of VOY, or even the theme song from ENT. It is entirely valid and love what you love.

I'm glad to say that I have finally, after all this time, found the Trek for me. I hope you've found yours, because it can be life changing.

I'm sorry that this is YouTube - trying to get my own PeerTube instance up and running. There's just not great video hosting options out there (that I can pay for)

I'm running nobara currently as my distro, but these issues persist after trying Pop!_OS and several other distros with help from forums etc. Be it pure WINE, Proton, or Lutris installs across multiple distros and drivers, the game will work perfectly for the first run. Afterwards, the game will immediately crash after character selection.

I'm at an in-between level of experience with Linux, so I'm not inept but far from a guru. I suspect the issues might be caused by the recent half integration of DX11. As far as that goes, let me explain - this game is old and ran on DX9 up until 2023. I'm not sure if that weird hybrid combo kills compatibility or not.

There is an intall that almost works here. It would be a lot of work to get this to work on my current Fedora based install vs. what it is meant for, but the install methods should be the same. The issue is that with that install textures are garbage and most are just jet black.

I can provide specs etc. If there is some kind of known bug on Proton that will prevent me from launching on Steam that can be fixed with Protontrix please let me know.

I know that I'm likely to be the only one to post about this issue here, ever, but I don't know a better place to ask than here! Also, the game is free on steam if someone can get it going correctly.

I'm at a loss. I have to completely wipe an install to get it working again which is a pain because my UI gets reset.

This was hard to make, and harder to post (especially at this hour when I know that none will see it). RIP, Dad.
