Photon is amazing, and I use it daily. I love it. I'm sorry about the users in the comments that don't understand what "subjective" means.

Thank you for all your work, and keep doing what you're doing!

What's the deal with loops? i have an account, and it's buggy, uncomplete, and not even open source/federated (Yes, i know it will be) But why release it so early? it's clearly unfinished.

An unstoppable force meets an immovable object. I wonder which one of them will be the first to throw a tantrum.

In my country, and today, somehow, astonishingly, this combination makes me what most would call very left leaning.

Let me guess, the US? The only people i've ever heard call liberals something as BS as far-left communists are conservative americans. The overton window in america is so ridiculous it's hilarious.

I agree. I should have specified, i meant left-libertarianism.

They are? i'm not sure where you live, but most of the world considers them to be right wing.

Don't even need to challenge it. Just criticize a mod, and you're banished to the void lmao

The problem doesn't seem to be that instances want to cater to a unique political group (that's why we have federation) It's that most instances cater to the same or similar groups. I think in general it's better that instances are differentiated by political beliefs. For example, i don't like Hexbear. I just block it. But if hexbear and solarpunk were a single instance, i wouldn't be able to separate the good and the bad.

But i agree that separating yourself too much from other ideas is bad, and echo chambers are bad in general.

I'm a closet atheist. In my country, apostasy is punishable by death. Thus, me being closeted.

Eh, i agree that lemmy shouldn't grow too big (Reddit is an example of why, feels like a circlejerk of bots and reposts), but the userbase feels too small currently. On a lot of communities, The activity is 1-2 posts a week, which makes it feel quite dead. And I especially miss the niche communities that you could join on reddit, for small games or obscure topics.

We have no centralized prison where all the torture happens there. Instead, all of our prisons are torturous. We even have a place in Riyadh called Al-deerah square, or lovingly referred to by the locals as Chop Chop square, where we behead people publicly. And as i said in another comment, "terrorism" charges can be as mild as leaving the religion.

Many such cases of people being tortured or even killed in different prisons: Abdullah al Hamid, Loujain al Hathloul, Nimr al Nimr, Ali Mohammed Baqir al Nimr, Dawoud al Marhoon.
