What are your browser config and settings? (Extensions, settings, about:config...)

[-] foremanguy92_@lemmy.ml 38 points 1 week ago

Maybe for app banking app (and even...), it could be understanding but for instagram, NEVER! Even for security reason... Bro they don't care about anything on their network, allow soft porn and all that kind of stuff. And after all of that they are going to come to say that it is for security reasons ๐Ÿ˜‚ Stay on the "libre" web, Lemmy is a great start! ๐Ÿ‘Œ

Hey, I'm always searching a home server (already post here https://lemmy.ml/post/15083947), I was thinking about a Lenovo P500, but maybe the PSU is a bit too special... My budget around $140, will buy used parts and one of the most important thing is the power efficiency (don't care about the peak wattage but want to stay around 50W idle and settling at about 70W when doing some work). Preferably I wouldn't like to buy mini PCs. ๐Ÿ˜ƒ Thx!

Just a simple question : Which file system do you recommend for Linux? Ext4...?

EDIT : Thanks to everyone who commented, I think I will try btrfs on my root partition and keep ext4 for my home directory ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Personally I use LibreTube as it has a really beautiful ui and without VPNs proxies the connections trough piped servers

I don't think revanced is even a bit privacy friendly, it's just a mod of youtube

EDIT : I'm going to use a Lenovo P500 (at around $130) with 8 threads (will upgrade it later) and 64gb of RAM. It support the E5 v4 family so that's great. If someone knows the power consumption, that would be cool!

Hello, I want to build a "homelab" and I'm searching for a server, what do you propose me as good options? I need something with at least 64gb RAM, can buy used, and minimum 16vcores.. Around 150$ If you have any good options let's comment below ๐Ÿ‘‡ THX โค

I've found Jellyseerr, that's a fork of overseerr to support jellyfin, maybe a good choice!

(And even emby support!)

Hello, I want to self-hosted apps get requests from the users (mainly movies), and then I can find a download for it to move it to a jellyfin server. Maybe after that, it could be a little more automated to download stuff automatically ๐Ÿ˜ƒ Thx

Hey, I'm in the way of building my homelab already thinking of some apps to run on it... Truenas in a VM, a Debian VM to run docker. And on this point, do you a have some docker apps recommandations? Write down all the apps that worth looking at them ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿ‘‡

I would say Freetube, it's very similar to android alternatives but in Linux, can proxy your traffic trough individious' instances.. The only downside is the 1080p limitation

Hi, I would know what are the differences between the vm-designed Kali Linux ISO and the "normal" one. Yes the vm-designed one is as "vm ready file", already configure and all the stuff... but what are the real differences, for example it says on the website that the vm one is isolated, but is this already not the case of a vm? And what is snapshots and vagrant image? thank you

Do I need to install the desktop env when installing a distro or do I need to install blank Linux and install a clean desktop env later? Thank you! ๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐Ÿ‘Œ

I have some concerns about this app and I'm asking if it's useful or not, not the app itself but more the 3 protocols included in it. I2P, DNSCrypt and TOR. What is you opinion?

I would recommended you HeliBoard (an OpenBoard alternative with some enhancements like multi language typing) https://github.com/Helium314/HeliBoard

I think that grapheneos is the most advanced one and if you can have it, it's the best choice
