I set up syncthing on a self hosted server to handle backing up photos/videos from my phone but still use google photos to share with family members. Does anyone have a better idea for sharing?

When I was visiting my wife's family for Thanksgiving, my father-in-law told me that his laptop was telling him that if he didn't upgrade to Win11 he be vulnerable to all sorts of malware. They're both retired and on a fixed income so he was panicking over buying a new machine. I put Mint on his existing laptop and walked him through its use. Fingers crossed that he'll be able to handle it. I haven't had any support calls from him yet but I'll find out how it's going when I see him in a few days.

Does anyone have any tips for supporting older family members on Linux if they have absolutely no experience with it?

We're just going to forget the Oath and everything that it led to. Nothing bad happened at Alqualondë, right?

In the US those are "RV Parks". They're pretty good if you you're traveling with kids and want to give them the opportunity to meet other kids and play with whatever amenities the park has. Camping in a state or national park is better if you want to more space and a more natural experience. Areas in some nattional forests are available to camp in for free as long as you don't stay in the same place for more than a week and clean up after yourself.

It does look strangely small. Seriously though, not making any childish penis joke. The dude just has small hands ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I agree with the sentiment but those states are all pretty blue. Trump might just let it happen to widen the divide and somehow claim that it's punishment for not bending the knee.

Yup. Pumice stoves work well but you need to be careful how much you use them. I use them once a week or so in the shower with warm water running over my feet. If you draw blood, you've gone too far and it will sting like a bitch.

Whenever medical science came up with a term to describe people with cognitive or intellectual impairments, it eventually became used as a derogatory insult. The R word was going out for a long time before Rosa's Law put the mail in the coffin.

I think that I'm one the the majority of left handed people who aren't totally left handed. I write and throw with my left hand. I use scissors and a computer mouse with my right. It helped with taking notes from a computer in college, I guess. I shoot pool equally well with either hand but I think that's the case with most people.

This is closest to the literal shitpost that I've ever seen.

As we in the Midwest prefer to call it, "a normal accent".
