I worry that if/when Lemmy becomes popular enough the larger communities will be targeted in the same way...

I never knew factorio has a Linux version. I hear the factory calling me again. You might not see me for a few days.

There would have to be some dramatic changes in the world socially and politically before I'll feel even remotely comfortable having kids. Also my finances would need to change.

And my family also has some genetic issues I'd rather not pass on.

Adoption is an option, but I'm pretty sure I don't even want one in the first place. When I was younger I thought having kids seemed like a sucker's game. My opinion has softened on that a bit, but it's still difficult to imagine actually wanting children.

There's also a lot of variance within the US. In some towns prom is huge. In my home town it wasn't as much. Many students elected not to go at all.

Many parts of the Internet has become functionally unusable without one. And given online advertising's history as a vector for malware, as blockers are just the sensible choice.

Props to him for talking about it. A lot of people get too embarrassed to tell anyone they got scammed. The reality is that phishing works on a ton of people and we should avoid shaming the victims. Everyone's acts like they're a digital security expert until their credit card gets stolen.

Just got mine today. There were a couple hiccups for me though.

First is communication. I didn't know these were available until a family member mentioned it. The pharmacy has signs for flu shots, why not covid?

Second, supply. I tried making an appointment a week ago, but they didn't have any, so I had to wait until now.

Finally is insurance. My provider is fantastically opaque about whether they'd cover it. I didn't know if I'd have to pay for the shot until I saw $0 on the receipt.

To say this has been fumbled would be an understatement. I'm not convinced that any agencies or companies are even trying to get people vaxxed.
