This movie is pretty well made:

Stare Into the Lights My Pretties

A documentary about the world of screens we are immersed in. How did we get here? Who benefits? What are the cumulative impacts on people, society and the environment? What may come next and is it what we want?

It did not work for me, and someone had already archived it, so I shared that link for others with the same problem. I am not in the USA, nor in an English speaking country. I also do not like giving the NYT any traffic.

His televised narcissistic collapse (now in it's 13th year) has emboldened every Archie Bunker wannabe, vacuous contrarian, all the racist chucklefucks, and miscellaneous shitstains the country has to offer. The rest of the people are sick and tired of having their empathy and compassion mocked and derided, their hopes and dreams dashed, and their future turned into nightmare fuel.

Yes, he was always a privileged asshole devoid of human compassion or understanding, but this is the moment at the WHCD on 4/30/2011 where he broke beyond repair: https://v.redd.it/sk0jqm81r5kd1

I agree. It has a very US centric Overton window which skews right IMO.

There is an excellent podcast story that is both relevant and very entertaining called S-Town.

My dog often eats raw bones of various animals. Last month he came home with a wild boar skull which has now eaten almost entirely, aside from the teeth and tusks.

Yesterday he caught and ate an entire rabbit. There wasn't even a single hair left.

These are not things any human I know can do, safely or otherwise.

Sich fügen heißt lügen!

Has a bit of a learning curve, but JDownloader 2 is all I have used for many, many years. I can't speak to IDM or how it looks in comparison.

Awesome move. Welcome to Linux. Mint is a great daily driver. It just works. And when something goes wrong, you have the ability to poke around and see in detail what is happening, and fix it with the help of the excellent Linux community.

Not to mention the clear advantage of Linux not spying on you or serving you ads.

Enjoy your new OS!

I have seen people hang them from string in fruit trees to ward off birds. 😆
