Yeah seems like it might have the benefit of VPN circumvention. I would be sending data to Verizon about my app usage and they'd get information they wouldn't otherwise if I'm using a VPN.

Yeah it’s not good. And what’s funny is there no details about what it is. They’re not really selling me on what “enhanced” 5G is and why it’s a benefit.

It was a generic settings app notification that said something like “you’re getting enhanced 5G with Verizon” and that was it. I clicked it and then took the attached screenshot. No additional information other than that it shares my info.

I don’t know all the technical aspects of what my carrier might know, but I think that if you load the Chase app, for example, it’s basically just sending an https call to Chase. Not sure if Verizon would know whether that came from an app or browser.

Additionally, if you use a VPN, I don’t know if Verizon would see any of that data. But again, I’m no expert.

Yes. Under cellular. Might be a Verizon-only thing.

Just updated to iOS 26 and a few hours later got this notice about “enchanted 5g” for some apps. I had no idea what it was, so I checked the details and saw that it was automatic enabled and shares info about what apps you use with Verizon. If it wasn’t for this notification I would have no idea this was running.

No thanks. Disable that.

Edit: “enchanted” lol. Meant enhanced.

Can’t imagine what Frankenstein interpretation of the law would allow for that. If you believe in the unitary executive, then it should unitary.

That said, Gorsuch in 2019 gave his full throat endorsement of unitary executive in Gundy. Kavanaugh also joined the court at the time and while he didn’t take part Gundy, he later signaled his support of Gorsuch’s take.

Which begs the question… it’s been six years and they haven’t put their money where their mouth is. Maybe they’re ready now — but I agree with you, it’s felt a little like they might be worried about the consequences of what a unitary executive would mean.

Heading to SCOTUS? Gorsuch & Kavanaugh have been drooling for the right moment to declare independent agencies unconstitutional, let alone Thomas and Alito. That’s 4 votes right there.

Classic SLAPP suit meant to silence/intimidate

I might be in the minority here, and I have lost zero sleep over Kirk’s death, but I don’t really want or need Staples/Office Depot workers to decide what should and should not be considered propaganda, and therefore printable material.

Just print my shit.

I’ve never seen a picture of this guy, or heard a comment from him, when he doesn’t look/sound like a complete buffoon.

Excellent read

I assume the pager plan is pretty affordable too compared to cell phone data plans

First shot across the bow at taking guns away from Trump/MAGA dissenters and political opponents. They start with a group they don’t think will incite too many, particularly the generally pro-2A Americans. Next it’ll be gays, then anyone with any connection to antifa, then just Democrats in general.

Sorry for the delayed response. I tried the reset button and there wasn’t any blockage or weak connection to the port itself.

Turns out the computer had Lenovo premium service so a tech came out the next day and replaced the motherboard. Hopefully I won’t have another issue 😬

I have a Lenovo X1 Carbon Gen 12. The other day I noticed both of my USB-C ports are not receiving or sending data. External drives won't mount and my dock won't send signal to my monitor, but when I plug in my charging cable I am still getting power. When I use "lsblk" nothing shows up, even though sometimes I hear the chime signaling something has been plugged in (but it's inconsistent and sometimes doesn't chime).

Both of my USB-A ports are working properly and receive data, so it's only my USB-C ports.

I'm running Ubuntu 24.04.3. I tried to revert back to an earlier kernel in case that was the problem but it didn't fix the issue.

Anyone have a similar issue? Thanks!
