I've loved Hokusai's work since I fell in love with the calming and yet terrifying beauty and detail of the great wave of Kanagawa at a university poster sale. This idea came to me after finally having to throw that print out from the wear and tear of the years;some time after I first made the ultros perler, but before I finished the rest.

I have a similar ~~hokusai~~ (edit: looking it up the painting I'm thinking of is a Hiroshige) meets legend of Zelda idea I've prototyped but it's still missing something I've yet to figure out. Hopefully I'll figure out out now that I can stop thinking about this one being incomplete ๐Ÿ˜…

thanks! I'm quite happy to hear that other people enjoyed my idea and how it came out now that I've actually gotten it finished

9 years of work on and off, with a frustrating/disappointing 5 year shelving in the middle due to some pain/muscle problems, is finally complete and I am so happy

the funny thing is this it's not the first article I've read about it this year, and tbf to them it's really hard to talk about how some of the games we love for the NES are turning 40 while the console itself is only 38

I'm sure for the marketing it's a lot better to be succinct with a title for the casual reader. Saying "The Famicom, the pre-cursor to the NES, turns 40: ... "

38 technically (it's the Famicom that's 40)

like it says on the tin, I've read up on the safety tips and have a pretty modern set (FD trinitron KV-13FS100) so I'm knowing that reduces my risk too as those are supposed to discharge faster naturally (and I'm already planning on leaving it unplugged for at least a day).

BUT I have shaky hands sometimes so I'm looking at what my options are for gloves I can wear for incidental openings or while discharging it. As far as I've read they come in class ratings for different voltages, and I'm trying to figure out what would be a sensible class to get to keep myself covered given the other precautions I'm already taking.

I gave the wiki link on the sidebar and didn't see much advice beyond the general "gloves are good", so if any of y'all have any more info to dump or point me towards I would be in your debt. Thanks!
