100% agreed, my only quibble was calling Lemmy a text based site.
And if everyone maintains that mentality, then nothing will ever change.
Calling something out ≠ offense.
If nobody ever questioned anything, nothing would ever change. Be the change you want to see, and stop shitting on people for actually standing up for something.
Lemmy has a ton of media tho, its not entirely text based.
That wasn't a question. Its like when you tell someone "why don't you go fuck yourself," you're not wondering why they're not fucking themselves. You're telling them to go fuck themselves. (Not telling you to go fuck yourself btw, just the most succinct example I could think of, lol) Point being, the FBI has bigger fish to fry than worrying about crime in another goddamn country. The biggest criminal grift is happening in US history right now and they're worrying about fucking Estonia.
I don't think so, since YouTube runs their ads from the same servers as the videos. You need to use an alternate front end that doesn't serve ads to begin with. One thing I used to do too was run a VPN on my router in Japan, so I would get Japanese ads instead. There were way fewer ads, I would have no idea what they were advertising, and the few ads I would get were way more entertaining.
Digital billboards suck, but everyone using those obnoxious, bright-ass LED headlights is way worse.
