One of the downsides is that you'll be playing the Nintendo Switch.
Switch emulators are so good by now, the experience is nearly always better on PC. My Switch is one of the first models too but now that I don't play online Smash anymore, I really don't see what use I could have of a homebrewed console.
I knew a Mexican girl who I don't think considered it fully "mexican" but liked it quite a lot still.
Even free I'm not installing that shit.

I don't think it matters what you call it. Gender dysphoria is a condition that hurts, and the cure is gender affirming care and acceptance.
As long as we agree on that idc what you define it as.
I don't have much of an opinion on people who believe they're a hive mind or a wolf or something. That seems to be your main issue, and imo it's a very different topic from whether or not gender dysphoria is mental illness. Like yeah they themselves are trying to put that in the same basket as gender identity, but it's an entirely different discussion.
I still use Reddit a bit (on desktop only), mostly to check on some niche communities that aren't really on the Fediverse yet, but Kbin has been very nice also. It's nice and chill, and overall a lot less fascist/bigot friendly, which is refreshing.

Chuggaconroy has been around forever yet he's only gotten better with time, despite only doing let's plays.
There's a lot of great channels though, it depends what you're looking for.
