Setup a matrix instance with a meta bridge and use that to slowly get rid of meta altogether. Works both for messenger and Instagram dms.

This is one of the most spot-on replies in this thread. Thanks! I think what you wrote is basically correct.

Only people who cares on how the basics is Linux stays compatible and fully free (as in freedom). But that's fine, as far as systemd can be optional.

I only used OpenWRT on netgear (arm) hardware... So for x86 I have no idea, but they have great forums you can lurk or inquire...

It should support all WiFi chipsets supported by Linux.

opnSense and WiFi don't play too well due to limited BSD WiFi support.

OpenWRT is a much better choice for an AP.

At least make sure the WiFi on the minipc is supported by opnSense before attempting that...
