I think they spend most of their time on traffic stops because tickets=money. IDK if it’s true on California, but other states legit have pull-over quotas so local governments can take in that fat ticket loot.

The article said they were under contract to make 10 seasons worth. Maybe they think it’s easier to just ride out the contract than break it.

I think it’s the word “ban” here. When I see ban, I think they’re going to block all of Norway from using Meta. What they’re really doing is making Meta pay a fine for serving overly targeted ads.

I’m for both, by the way. Block Meta and punish them for data hoarding.

I’m not on lemmy.ml, but from what I’ve read, the majority of users there are dead set against any large corporation looking to encroach on the Fediverse. The mods seem to be following the will of the people.

The issue is that large tech companies rarely restrain themselves when there’s a big pile of money to be made. The odds are high that Meta will exploit this whether it was an accident or not.
