First signs of Iran retaliation. Exposions in Tel-Aviv

[–] PowerCrazy@lemmy.ml 2 points 1 month ago

Is there a similar feature from reddit to do that in lemmy?

Because Iran is a paper tiger and are completely unable to mount any kind of response. They have sent ~100 UAVs and almost all of them have been shot down (though that is according to the IDF) Otherwise Iran has been silent on action, but loud on words. Just like they were before the attack.

Here is what Iran has done so far ~18 hours after the attack.

Meanwhile Israel is still continuing to run roughshod all over Iranian Airspace with impunity and attacking targets. Mossad is operating on the ground and very well may be planning to assassinate more senior officials.

This is what Iran said before the attacks:

No. Not at all. Nuclear reactions requires a pretty compact geometry. An explosion is the opposite of that. You can irradiate an area, but not cause an actual reaction.

US proxying an Iranian attack with more plausible deniability.

Why does the US care about that aspect. If the US wanted to it could directly attack Iran, and the only thing China or Russia would do is "tsk-tsk" the US. No one is going to bat for Iran, especially against the US.

Iran's response has to be the total destruction of the US Embassy in either Iraq or Israel or they will be a whipping boy for the next 20 years, or until the total collapse of the US Government.

I guess the US evacuating it's Iraq embassy indicates that they knew something. Despite Trumps dementia, perhaps someone in his cabinet knew.

In terms of $17billion in funding over the past 4years, sure. In terms of intelligence sharing? Maybe. In terms of tactical/strategic support? ~~I'm doubtful The Whitehouse even knew about until afterwards~~

e: recalling the embassy evacuation's the US did earlier, I take that back.

While it is true that visible billionaires like Elon, or Peter Thiel, or Bezos think they are immune to the society that enables them, it's not just the Elon's of the world that control everything. If Elon/Bezos/Gates/Zuckerberg were assassinated, nothing changes. There are more Billionaires you haven't heard about. The share-holders of railroads and defense industries, energy sector magnates, secretive CEOs of private holding companies you've never heard of are their pawns, the entrenched rich. The ones that fund K-Street in the US. The ones that ensure the only viable politicians support Israel.

It's families with generational wealth that are so sheltered they don't participate in the same society as us. These are the people who know they wouldn't be safe if anyone knew who they were, and they have learned generational lessons. They are still just humans, but until the legal, financial, and governmental structures they've assembled over the last few centuries are dismantled, nothing can be improved for the rest of us.
