The problem in America is that more and more skilled workers are having to settle for making hamburgers because of shit like this. Good luck getting any "portfolio" shit done when you're working 2 unskilled labor jobs and still not making your monthly bills.
This also doesn't address the fact that employers give zero fucks about that stuff. Portfolios. Gimme a fucking break. It doesn't matter if you singlehandedly made an entire Linux distro, no one's going to care.
Making your own indie games when you already have the skills and don't have college debt is a thing that already generally doesn't work out.
Great game. Awesome game. Runs like shit in late game even on modern hardware unless you keep things smaller and boring + the modding situation sucks a lot. Fun enough to still be worth playing. Hopefully someday they'll make a sequel to address some of these issues or someone else will make a similar game with better performance. Sins 2 is a thing but it's only on epic and I don't use Windows. We might get a steam release some day but until then I'm too lazy to pirate it.
If I were offered $75k to have 1 kid, I'd still have to turn it down.
Best I can do is make an elf that mostly works and the memory manager seems pretty solid but the second you start doing stuff with strings, it fucks all up and I never figured out that bug after months so it is what it is. If you want to print a string you have to drop into real mode first.
Before the court ruling, I was already doing all that just for fun. Now I'm doing it for political reasons and also for fun.
