What is the value in hearing opinions that denigrate your existence and way of life? Why would that make one close minded? You have finite amount of time, resources, and mental energy to devote to the content you engage with. Why spend it on content that you consider antagonistic, toxic, and stress-indiucing?

Been a while since I tried my hand at portrait free drawing. Enjoyed the process and learned a lot.

Fuck Lauren Thomas of the Restaurant Association. What an out of touch thing to say. And to think that she not only had the gall and confidence to say it publicly and out loud, but has since doubled down on it...

To add to this, on Lemmy I often find myself both agreeing and disagreeing with a user depending on the topic and community. It adds a layer of additional context and nuance to that user. If I was just to follow the user vs. community, however, I may get the impression that the user is not worth following if I happen to run across them on a topic that we have disagreements on.

Fuck the cdc. They've made one bad call after another on this thing since the start. Becoming like the flu? Last time I caught this shit a few months ago I was in bed for 2 weeks before I could even function at a base level again. And that's with being fully boosted, otherwise healthy, in shape, and using paxlovid.

You find out where that kid lives. Go to their town and tell them of how brave their father was and how he died next to you in battle fighting the enemy hordes. Tell him you made a promise to raise him and see to his education. Add child to raiding party. Raise him to be a merciless avenger in his father's memory. Become the scourge of the continent. Eventually child finds out that you were the one who killed his father and turned him into a monster for your own profit. Meet child on the plains for a final battle. Refuse to lift your sword in defense because you've come to love him as your own. Oh no - the whole thing was a setup by the enemy: they leaked the truth to the kid and set up this meeting as an ambush for both of you, hoping you'd kill/weaken each other. Fight to your dying breath defending the kid and helping him escape. Last words your hear as he escapes and leaves you to your fate are about how much he'll miss you and forgives you.

So in order to protect the kids...we're going to put their future prospects in jeopardy with heavy handed zero tolerance policy bs? Throw the fucking vape away and move along jfc

Because Israelis are raised from birth to view everyone in Gaza as sub-human scum who would kill them at first opportunity if given one. The far right government propaganda has done a number on the population.

Why do people still continue to use this shit site and then act surprised when this happens?

"I think it probably..."

  1. You're a fucking surgeon general. You shouldn't base your opinions re: public health on what you "think" and "believe," but on science and facts
  2. If you do have a hypothesis to that effect, then run some tests and studies and either prove it or disprove it and shut the fuck up
  3. None of this is how mRNA works. It's a fucking messenger you disingenuous dolt

And they used taxpayer dollars to develop it.

Neolibs pissed at the commies for coming into their communities and talking shit, commies pissed at neolibs for calling out their troll behavior in newly federated instances and doubling down on it. Mix it with new fed users who are still not quite sure how federation works or what it means, sprinkle in different blocking abilities depending on app of choice and you've got Tuesday in the fediverse.

Meanwhile they're all missing amazing content and niche communities like the raccoon community and the diy home automation project community, to name a few of my favorites.

Content for the Fediverse God: throwback to some early experimentation with watercolor stains and reverse coloring book style drawing way back before it was cool 😜

It's insane that we as a society are even having the debate between pushing capital investment strategies to adapt and come into the 21st century or dragging globally-distributed workers back to the 20th century just to avoid short-term pain and costs associated with updating outdated laws, tax incentives, and capital business practices.
