That's the type of beyond the pale premise that makes me fall in love with anime all over again.

Witch Hat Atelier is my favorite manga and that's the episode I am looking forward to.

There is a "reincarnated as a bath" series. And I think there was already a reincarnated as panties series. I don't remember if that one was a novel or a manga.

absurdly beautiful MC. Couldn't concentrate on anything else.

The pedophile trader wasn't needed either. Though, I expect him to turn out as a good guy who really just wanted to treat her well.

Hell yeah! More drink based best girls!

Very good adaptation so far. Whoever screen adapted it clearly respected the source material. Even details like the staff being used as a clothes line got put in. I'm happy with how this turned out. Nero is cool and best villainess is best villainessing (with a perfect ojou-sama laugh that goes into the history books).

Guild Handyman? More like Mastermind! Using My Hidden Skills in the Shadows

As the guild's handyman, Tenes Lumel tackles the boring paperwork and menial labor, all while clocking out on time from his quiet job in the boonies. But the low profile he keeps by day hides a darker truth. In reality, Tenes is the mastermind behind a secret organization singularly determined to upend the twisted rules that govern the world.

Exiled from a great noble house and abandoned by God, he won't stop until he's dismantled the system. After nearly being sold off to slave traders by his scumbag parents, Thor finds himself orphaned and alone at the age of four, forced to scrape by using sheer grit and his newfound culinary skills. Just as survival feels within reach, he discovers two beastfolk girls on the verge of death. Helping them could spell his own ruin, but for a man who adored all things furry-eared in his past life, there's only one path forward.

“There's no way I'm abandoning beast ears!” And so begins Thor's adventure of cooking his way through the dungeon!

Old Knight, New Post: From Retiree to Her Majesty's Blade

Once a peerless Mechsteel pilot in his youth, Watt Sears is now nearing forty and working as a humble station employee. Despite the repeated pleas of his boss and the lord of the land to become a Steelrider—one of the elite monster-hunting mech pilots who keep the city safe—Watt is perfectly content with his quiet life. But all of that changes when his storied past catches up to him.

Anna, his long-lost daughter from a bygone romance, appears before Watt one day to ask for his help. Resolving to keep her safe, Watt takes Anna under his wing—only to immediately find himself caught up in a not-so-bloodless battle for the throne. The Goddess Says, “Kill the Tsundere Witch!”

I was proud to be the biggest tsundere fan in the world until the day everything changed: when I woke up from uneasy dreams to fi nd myself turned into a staff and buried in a forest! Fortunately for me, a narrow-eyed, silver-haired beauty saved me. I tried to thank her, only for her to say...it's not like she saved me for my sake, or anything! What is that but the textbook line of a tsundere?! This perfect tsundere specimen is apparently Stella, a student of the Saint Antohsa Academy and the owner of a certain holy magic staff—me. Guess I'll have to cheer her on for the rest of my life!

But wait, why am I a staff, anyway?

When I visit the Goddess who rules over this world in the hopes of becoming human again, she tells me I need to kill Stella, the so-called evil witch, to have my wish granted! I have to choose between my shy beloved and world peace? Well, that's an easy one...

This is the first volume of a school-life fantasy where a staff—that's me—and a tsundere girl change the world

Eager to the right build, Yuri follows an online guide and picks the summoner class with a bow for his weapon. Now reversing fortune is just a matter of dumping all of his stat points into luck! Or at least, that was the plan. Turns out he's been trolled! Summoners are useless, the bow is garbage, and the game's barely playable with his abysmal stats. To top it all off, the avatar randomizer turned him into a hot girl, and now a bald barbarian won't stop hitting on him! But Yuri's not about to let the trolls have the last laugh. With a PvP event on the horizon, he's determined to make his build work and crush the competition!

Instead, he's blessed with extremely powerful defensive and healing magic, an irony that earns him the ridicule of his peers. Determined to escape from those who know of his failings, Eugene flees to the Lykeion Magic Academy where he meets Erinyes, a fallen Demon Queen imprisoned beneath the school. Taken in by his potential, Erinyes appoints Eugene to be her caretaker. Not long after, the headmaster of the academy assigns Eugene to be the guardian of Sumire, a mysterious girl from another world who just so happens to be an Ifrit of legend. With these two women at his side, history's biggest failure is sure to become a legendary swordsman...right?

Flung into a New World? Time to Lift the 200-Year Curse!

Akira Tennou—an unremarkable thirty-five-year-old janitor—has got a lot to complain about. He was hit by a truck, unintentionally dragged into a hero-summoning spell, and now he's stuck in some random gloomy forest in a parallel world. And he's probably afflicted by a dark curse now, if his sister's beloved fantasy manga are to be believed. The ominous shadows everywhere don't give him much hope for his new life, especially when they're also attached to the giant wolf that just snuck up behind him… But while this world does come with a curse, it also comes with something awesome: magic. Akira's got the power to purify, and he's gonna use it to free the creatures of the forest! Trying to fi gure out how magic works without a teacher isn't going to be easy, but he's not gonna let some stupid curse get between him and a bunch of cute animals!

Elf spoilerWas that supposed to be Sera in the ED? She looked cutesy and clumsy with her summer dress and dropping the thingy on the floor instead of hyper competent and cool as described in the books. I guess it's intended as some sort of fan service that shows a different side of her, but as the first introduction anime onliest get to the character it sends the wrong first impression in my opinion.

[–] NineSwords@ani.social 4 points 2 days ago

Okay, I've almost forgotten how tolerable Rio is when he is alone. But going by the after credits scene it's going to become intolerable going forward.

Quality wise I had hoped for more. It's not exactly powerpoint levels of animation but it's also not far off. I guess it was too much to ask to get another quality surprise like last seasons Country Bumpkin.

[–] NineSwords@ani.social 2 points 2 days ago

Very formulaic so far, but I don't hate it. I know it won't happen but I hope the plot line about the evil party leader would be dropped entirely. Just give me episodic cooking for a rotating cast of adventurers and I'm a happy customer. I don't need the drama.

[–] NineSwords@ani.social 3 points 3 days ago

I might have become numbed to series titles, but I don't think this one is even in the top 100 of the worst offenders. Some series titles spoil the entire plot instead of just the basic premiss. I still would prefer some more catchy and normal titles though.

[–] NineSwords@ani.social 3 points 3 days ago

Kinda meh. I give it another episode to see it it doesn't turn around.

[–] NineSwords@ani.social 8 points 3 days ago (3 children)

This happens every time this series comes up. People bashing it because of the premiss alone. Doesn't matter how often it gets repeated that the series is actually good.

I missed it but next Manga they read is Witchhat Atelier witch :) I wholeheartedly recommend! If a series gets even me as a light novel snob to read a manga it must be exceptional.

My recommendations:

  • Making Magic: The Sweet Life of a Witch Who Knows an Infinite MP Loophole - Fluffy story. Each volume is basically its own episode.
  • A Late-Start Tamer’s Laid-Back Life - A bit repetitive but an relaxed read. If you like games like Stardew Valley you'll like this.
  • They Don’t Know I’m Too Young for the Adventurer’s Guild - The second volume only came out today, so it's a bit early to say much more than that I've enjoyed the first volume about as much as I enjoyed the first volume of Bookworm. Let's hope that this one is also only getting better and better with each volume.

she is going out with a bang(er). Written and produced by Casey Edwards (of DMC Fame) and animated by Mazu (the animator of the insane Myth Bad End).

gura said that this is her dream project and that she has never put her heart out there so much as with this song (the lyrics make her ugly cry).

I think this is an absolute masterpiece and will send tremors through the vTuber sphere.
