This still assumes that there will still be competent devs who want to come back to work.
What have they been doing for the last five years ? Presumably finding something else to pay the rent and/or provide fulfillment.
So what happens when the experienced devs quit or retire... ?
To clarify - the name of the village was the literal word 'Fucking', which was printed on the road signs that kept being stolen. Of course, 'Fucking' doesn't mean 'fucking' in German (that would be 'ficken'); according to Wikipedia, the (previous) name of the village ("Fucking") means "(place of) Focko's people".
Assuming that you're asking in good faith - People are frequently evicted from longterm rented accomodation because the landlord can make more profit from AirBNB. This in turn reduces the pool of available housing and drives up rents.
