The article says he got permission from people who wrote the code to change the license. If they didn’t give permission then he has rewritten the code.

Furthermore, anyone can spin up a Lemmy server if they want to see people’s votes. It’s not very hard or load the same post in kbin/mbin.

They don’t. These are reproduction cartridges and not official. Apparently these are using emulators.

Why can’t all cell providers have an agreement where if the user dials 911 or whatever the equivalent is in their country your phone will connect to any network if your provider isn’t currently available and route the call.

Being restricted to only your network when another provider might have a cell tower nearby with full signal is ridiculous in an emergency.

It does only run on Windows. This compatibility checker isn’t working correctly and is most likely detecting Wine as Windows 10 for some reason.

In my experience, pipewire is leagues ahead of pulseaudio and just works. All the issues I had with pulseaudio are resolved with pipewire and it sounds better as well with the default settings.

I wouldn’t be surprised if older versions have a backdoor too as they were a maintainer for 2 year so who knows what they added.

I have been looking to get a upscaler for my retro consoles and also to allow me to stream these analog consoles.

Currently I am leaning towards the Open Source Scan Converter 1.8 but I know there are other options too like the RetroTink.

Does anyone have any experience, recommendations etc with these?

It’s really good but I do wish it supported more languages like Russian or Japanese. So far most of the times I have had to translate a page, Firefox didn’t support the language.

I installed Arch Linux without turning off the WPBT bloatware in my BIOS. While this is a Windows feature is there a chance manufacturers could use this feature to install Linux bloatware that users don't want?

I've recently watched Oppenheimer on 35mm and 2001: A Space Odyssey on 70mm film and wondered how the audio works when it is printed on the film.

Does the film go through another machine before going through the projector?

It does have Firefox but it’s a Safari reskin.
