I appreciate the Apps in it's infancy on Android but things didn't go so well for me.

The material colours were off and when I tried to open the settings menu the result was null.

I will certainly revisit, once all the bugs have been ironed out.

Samsung, Android 14.

Samsung user.

Spotted the inclusion of Auto Blocker in the last system update.

The App can be disabled, or as I did, adb uninstalled.

I've kinda been doing this for a while now, with the help of the floating overlays App, although the availability of supported floating Apps is limited at the moment.

Filled out the survey, hope it helps.

Total Launcher on, Samsung A52S 5G, Android 14, has for the most part, been a good experience, for nearly Three years now.

Gestures are smooth but animations are a little clunky and the App exhibits some strange behaviour on occasions.

The Launcher's quality seems to vary with manufacturer, some users report issues.

The sheer level of customisation is what keeps me on board, there's no other Launcher on Playstore that offers the same level of finite adjustments.

There's some good point's here, even the articles author seems to have doubt's as to the validity of such devices where updates are concerned.

Putting all those aside for a moment, to me the silver lining is the ability to easily swap out a failing battery or charging port, especially if your a ham-fisted user who regularly rams the connection in. I've had no end of these fail over the years and more often than not, simply disposed of the device.

The other thing I miss from back in the day was the ability to disconnect the battery when a device gets frozen, it's not resolving the underling issue but a great way to get things up and running again.

Really not sure about this, specifically the two finger gesture bit.

Because of my physical difficulties, I use a Stylus, which is fine at the moment.

Trying to keep hold of the Stylus, whilst fumbling for the two finger swipe screen gesture, really isn't going to work well for me.

When the time comes, I'll probably need to look for a third party Notification Shade / Quick Settings / Gestures App, that gets around this.

Yet another case of aesthetics over practicality Google ๐Ÿ‘Ž

Could end up being a collector's model, nah.

I used to use Bitwarden and it's a great App but you need to export your saved password list frequently somewhere safe just in case.

I now use Safe In Cloud, the backup can be restored from their servers.

Afaik, the backups encrypted and Safe In Cloud have no access anyway, check out the Playstore reviews for more details.

You can emulate the old Windows phone look with Square Launcher.

I'm seeing a few recommendations to flash a custom ROM.

Wouldn't that be just great, there's only one slight problem with that idea ....

You mentioned it's a Samsung device.

Depending on which Samsung device you have, custom ROMS are hard or in some cases impossible to find and the process to install them is more difficult than on some other devices.

Get the process wrong and you'll brick your phone, so think long and hard before you go down that road.

Just thought I'd give you a heads up.
