For me it was that all my friends used it. So we share and comment posts a lot there. Now we do not have an alternative.

If you are sharing a lot of music I really don't mind if you download several albums from me, nowadays with this bandwith I dont care. If you want to be extra polite just a quick "thanks for the music " is perfect. Thanks for sharing your personal rips, that is quality content.

I remember when I tried OSM maps for navigate my city a lot of years ago, awful experience. Today is almost perfect and changes in roads are updated so fast. I love OpenStreetMap.

I used it because the feature of marking posts as read after scroll across them and hide them on demand.
