Somewhere in Rousseau's "Confessions" there's a bunch about him becoming disillusioned by the church as a child because of sexual abuse, and the head priest tells him "that's how it's always been". That was written in 1769!

There's also a small business called tree2table in Chilliwack. The guy has a buttload of sweet hardwood he has milled solely from salvaged logs. Highly recommend checking out his wood supply, if you get more into wood working.

There's giant chunks of water ice all over the place in the Kuiper belt, much easier to grab, not stuck in a gravity well full of corrosive oxygen and creepy creatures.
