Tiktok isn't an app for kids, i don't want to be ageist - it's for all ages and everyone can have fun on there. But the way tiktoker's talk on tiktok and other platforms with their cutesy little euphemisms for violence and sex does make me think every time "Ah, they're used to the kiddie app", because it's making grown adults be afraid to talk about adult topics.

This is just the fault of censorship and not the app or the users, but it is literally sanitized kiddie language and feels very out of place and hard to take seriously on websites that don't have that censorship.

They literally showed fucking bombs falling on the middle east on live TV during the War in Iraq and the right wing was still like Hoo-Ra about it and being extremely fucking racist and calling for more. It was even policy to have journalists embedded in combat groups. Obviously they were choosy about what they showed, but it's not like we had a huge lack of footage about what was going on over there at the time. I remember seeing videos of tanks shooting and there were graphic violent videos of execution of Iraqis and shit like that.

It's totally okay to say "hey can i open up about something that's bothering me?" Or "i'm in a rough spot and want to talk about, but i don't want don't want to burden you with it" if people ask. It's good, actually

some people consider it oversharing to talk about certain topics, and other people don't. It's really a relationship to relationship thing. Best thing to do is just ask close friends if you can talk about something deep.
